A Review of Fareed Zakaria In Foreign Affairs

Zakaria, Fareed: The New China Scare, Foreign Affairs, Jan-Feb 2020

Mr. Zakaria subtitles his screed:  Why America Shouldn’t Panic About Its Latest Challenger, that is, China.  My objection to Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zakaria and the whole Leftist-Liberal Establishment is that while professing to be far in advance than the Conservatives they cling to the whole post-WWII fantasy of American hegemony or supremacy.  That time is gone.  We are now living in a new Global era which is inter-locked economically while national sovereignty is taking a much diminished role.

Because of the shifting of whole national populations into the United States it is no longer possible, if it ever was, to speak of a unit called America.  America was a dream of the past.  Because of the extreme diversity of the US there is not one but several ethnic Americas.  The Chinese themselves already have a significant presence in the US and are inundating our neighbor to the North, Canada.  These domestic Chinese identify more with China than the US so it is not appropriate to speak of a China while disregarding its ex-pats in the rest of the world.  It is more or a Chinese diaspora and has to be dealt with as such.

Mr. Zakaria is himself a Moslem and in speaking of his ‘chosen’ country he speaks of it as an other and not as his own.  Thus in his subtitle he speaks that ‘America shouldn’t Panic.’  We, who have been born here, perhaps several generations ago, don’t recognize the China problem as panic, we recognize China as a competitor on the world stage that is seeking world dominance or, put another way, it wants to be the Top Country.  China being 90 some percent of the same ethnic group, Han Chinese doesn’t have the identity problem that the US does.  China does not cater to its minority peoples they dominate and subordinate them as with the Uigurs on its Eastern frontier.  Nor are they polite; they round the Uigurs up, put them in concentration camps and ‘indoctrinate’ them out of their ways, which are Moslem, into Chinese ways.  If Europe or the US would attempt that the world, including the Chinese, would put up a howl.  Yet if the West wants to maintain its culture it must ‘indoctrinate’ its minorities as the Chinese do.  Even the Hindus of India have belatedly become aware that their culture is under threat from the Moslems and repressive measures are being taken.

Let us be clear there is no China Scare in the US contrary to Mr. Zakarias assertion.  We are dealing with the new Global situation on a calm rational basis.

By a New China Scare Mr. Zakaria does not mean to refer to a second China scare, he is referencing the defensive measures taken against the Communist threat after WWI and WWII.  By ‘scare’ he means an irrational response to an imaginary threat.  Thus he tries to force the facts to fit his narrative. 

In point of fact there was a Communist threat that had to be quelled.  After WWI the alert and astute Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer rose to the occasion rounding the Communists up and actually deporting a few hundred to the Socialist Homeland, the Soviet Union.  His efforts were compromised by the Domestic Reds in prominent positions.

After WWII HUAC rose to the occasion abetted by 1950 with the activities of the courageous Senator Joseph McCarthy who also were defeated by internal Communist forces, but the Communist momentum was derailed after both wars and forced to reorganize.

Now, Zakaria follows the official CIA line in which ignorant American fears dominate their actions.  Thus they say that in both the aftermath of WWI and WWII there were no Communist threats and the effective responses to defuse those threats were merely panic attacks.  While our great generals had won the wars and our brave American soldiers had outfought their terrible enemies immediately on arriving home they had panic attacks rather than recognizing enemy tactics.  In WWI Mitchell Palmer who acted so magnificently has been defamed as a paranoid dodo.

After WWII Pres. Truman’s actions are characterized this way by Zakaria following the CFR playbook:

In February 1947, US President Harry Truman huddled with his most senior policy advisors, George Marshall, and Dean Acheson and a handful of Congressional leaders.  The topic was the administration’s plan to aid the Greek government in the fight (scary response in Mr. Zakaria’s thought processes) against a Communist insurgency.  Marshall and Acheson presented their case for the plan.  Arthur Vandenberg, chair of the Senate Committee On Foreign Relations, listened closely and then offered his support with a caveat.  “The only way you are going to get what you want,” he reportedly told the president, “is to make a speech and scare the hell out of the country.”

Now, one might say that Pres. Truman, acting in his capacity and duty as the President, presented his speech to alert the country to the threat of World Communist domination which was real and imminent at the time having been encouraged by the Communist sympathizer former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who Vice President Truman succeeded after having been purposely kept ignorant of the world situation even though Roosevelt was obviously a sick and dying man.

Zakaria says that Pres. Truman was not rational but an irrational scare tactician manipulating the country to get what he wanted.  Zakaria could have co-written Howard Zinn’s trashy history.  This is the way that the Left discredits by insinuation and defamatory characterization ignoring the facts.

Mr. Zakaria continues:

Over the next few months, Truman did just that.  He turned the civil war in Greece into a test of the United States ability to confront international communism.

You see how Zakaria turns the situation from an internationally communist backed insurgency into a civil war, and instead of an international defense against the spread of communism into an ego test of the United States ability to confront international communism.  Obviously Truman and the US was at fault and not Joseph Stalin and international communism.  Thus we go from a communist insurgency to a civil war, to a ‘test’ against international communism.  This says something as to why the CFR would allow such trash in their magazine.

Reflecting on Truman’s expansive rhetoric about aiding democracies anywhere, anytime, Acheson confessed in his memoirs that the administration had made an argument “clearer than truth.”  Something similar is happening today in the American debate about China.

Unquote.

Not the negative characterization of the phrase ‘Truman’s expansive rhetoric about aiding democracies anytime, anywhere’ and Acheson ‘confessed.’  Did he really confess or merely state what might have been an obvious truth to him.  And his ‘clearer than truth’ may be meant positively rather than negatively.  It can possibly be read both ways but Zakaria make Acheson ‘confess’ which is negative.  This is the Leftist way.

Perhaps English is Mr. Zakaria’s second language while Arabic is his first. Oh, I know, I know, even though Mr. Zakaria is a Moslem he is as ‘American’ as apple pie.  He may even have been born here, right?

Mr. Zakaria says that similar to the ‘Red Scares’ is happening today  in the American debate about China.  Not true, there is nothing similar at all.  This is a different time, different circumstances and a different grope for power.  What Americans should panic about is Mr. Zakaria’s being given space to spin his anti-American vitriol.  Would it be out of line to ask from which university Mr. Zakaria received his degree in history?

My title is one of the two slogans on the cover of the September/October issue of the CFR’s Foreign Affairs magazine.  As it is the CFR that can only mean the Council is lamenting the termination of the Chinese uncontested domination of manufacturing and distribution in both Europe and North America.

Of course nothing is more natural or desirable than change.  During the Obama administration when the whole of American mores were forcefully being changed change was good.  Now that President Trump is reorganizing the CFR trading system out of favoring China change is lamentable.  The unfair Chinese system was thought perfect by the CFR.

Strangely, in reading the articles in Foreign Affairs there seems to be a cognitive disconnect about what happened.  The Chinese did not originate the Chinese Trading System to which the CFR alludes, the US did.  The Chinese didn’t have an inkling of an idea of establishing a global trading system.  The country was quite insular and seemingly content to stay that way.

Then in 1971 Nixon and Kissinger traveled to China, groveling before Mao in his nighties and changed the successful old system of Chinese containment releasing the genie from the bottle.

Then Americans, always ready to sell their birthright for a mess of pottage, saw that the Chinese would work hard for virtually nothing so they took their expertise and exported it to China free of any charges to show them how to make gidgets and gadgets for simple minded Americans and so to be able to eventually conquer the world without munitions or armies of any sort but by simply manufacturing gidgets and gadgets.

Not being complete idiots the Chinese studied American history during the nineteenth century and learn that by merely using intellectual properties without paying for them was a royal road to riches and by excluding competition from American goods and restricting outside investments to exclude the very corporation who were exploiting cheap Chinese labor, stealing trade and manufacturing secrets that all the apples on the tree would fall in China.

Speaking of apples, here is an example of the peculiar trading system the CFR so adores.  At one time Washington State was shipping whole crops of apples to China and prospering mightily.  The bureaucrats in DC, mostly CFR members considerately thought this matter over and, apparently thinking it unfair that American growers should be prospering they ordered the Washington State growers to go to China and teach them how to grow apples commercially themselves.  You see, the Chinese couldn’t figure that one out themselves.  Consequently Washington State growers lost that lucrative market.

And in that vein the CFR bureaucrats organized their amazing global trading system whose demise they now deplore.  The opinion of the apple growers hasn’t been solicited.

This incredibly unfair, even criminal, approach to global trade is now dying a natural death.  No, correct that, President Trump is blowing it apart.  As Chinese intransigence hardens into a total refusal to give up their advantages conferred on them by the CFR, President Trump, who’d rather win than lose, is hardening the US approach.  In the latest development he is apparently assuming an autocratic stance more consonant with global political trends and has or is about to order US corporations to abandon China and bring their manufacturing back to the US.

Such a ukase would be the worst thing that could happen to China that, after all, has built its prosperity by exploiting the people of the US and Europe.

Not only is a global trading system dying but the whole post-French Revolution democratic political system is dying.  Democracy is dead as autocracy rises from the ruins of the pre-Soviet Revolution Czarist autocratic system.  Today, change is now.  Rather than resist the current, let’s go with the flow.

The September/October issue of Foreign Affairs, the mouthpiece of the Council On Foreign Relations arrived in the mail.  The cover told me the whole story of the contents.  The cover displays two slogans: the first is ‘Autocracy Now’ and the second is ‘How A Global Trading System Dies.’

For this piece let us tackle the slogan: ‘Autocracy Now.’  The CFR notes the multiplying of autocrats.  Xi, Putin, Duterte, Ergonon etc.  It pictures five while omitting the head of the EU, an autocrat if there ever was one, and the Presidency of the US.  Note I do not specify Trump.  The autocracy of the United States began with Bush Sr. continuing through Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama and now President Trump.  Democracy is dead and has been since at least 9/11/01.

The majority of the US is opposed to everything that is being foisted on it by a Liberal minority opposed to the majority. A Liberal minority rules the majority regardless what the majority wants or, indeed, votes for.  A compliant judiciary declares all majority votes unconstitutional.  That’s autocracy friends.  The majority is impotent, the minority rules.  Any dissenting head is smashed down.

Currently in Hong Kong, Xi has ordered that any employee of the airport who participated in the revolution is to be fired.  The White administrator has complied.  Nor is this complacency limited toward the Chinese autocrat.  In the US anyone, for decades now, of prominence refusing to tow the Liberal line has been fired on trumped up charges amounting to nothing.  No on can get or keep a job unless he’s a simpering idiot like Anderson Cooper.  It took a few decades to assimilate Faux News but it has been done just recently.

We are, in fact experiencing a sea change not only in Western Civilization but in global civilization.  The apparent democracy established by the French Revolution has passed.  It is no more.  Democracy has died, the passing was signaled by 9/11/01 and HomeLand Security.  Autonomy has reemerged as the governing force.  The Russian Czars were just a few centuries ahead of their time.

The time of crisis is now hitting the US.  President Trump aborted the establishment of the Liberal autocracy by unbelievably defeating its candidate, Hillary Clinton, who defrauded the Democratic popular candidate Bernie Sanders.  She’s CFR, is it clear?

The exact point of the crisis in the US then, is the election of 2020.  If the Left wins in the US, as it most assuredly will, the US will be placed under the iron heel of an incompetent Leftist boob, whoever that Democratic candidate may be.  It therefore behooves President Trump to establish an official autocracy of the Right, suspend the election, or at least count the ballots as the Dems have been doing for decades to get the desired result.  The results of the election can be announced beforehand to relieve the ‘suspense.’

Now, Xi is clearly is taking actions to destroy personal initiative in Chinese territories that are steadily expanding.  Obama was doing the same in the US.  It is to be believed then that all the autocrats save possibly Trump will act to suppress any freedom of thought or expression thus ensuring the collapse of civilization.

The time has come to steel ourselves to act in our own self-interest.  If any fragment of civilization is to survive, let it be us.  Act now or wear the yoke forever.

In the 2019 March-April issue of Foreign Affairs devoted to discussion of the idea of New Nationalism, Jill Lepore a Harvard Professor of History opens the discussion with an article entitled:  The New Americanism.  No, she isn’t talking about Pres. Donald Trump.  Her proposition is this:  Why a Nation Needs a National Story.

Apparently Liberals have given up on the idea that there is no such thing as a nation.  Even a social construct needs a reason to exist.  I quote here first two paragraphs:

In 1986, the Pulitzer Prize-winning, bowtie-wearing Stanford historian Carl Degler delivered something other than the usual pipe-smoking, scotch-on-the-rocks, after-dinner disquisition that had plagued the evening program of the annual meeting of the American Historical Association for nearly all of its centurylong history.  Instead, Degler, a gentle and quietly heroic man, accused his colleagues of nothing short of dereliction of duty: appalled by nationalism, they had abandoned the study of the nation.

“We can write history that implicitly denies or ignores the nation-state, but it would be a history that flew in the face of what people who live in a nation-state require and demand,” Degler said that night in Chicago.  He issued a warning: “If we historians fail to provide a nationally defined history, others less critical and less informed will take over the job for us.”

Unquote.

I empathize with Prof. Degler’s concerns, however ‘nationally defined history’ already exists and has existed for some time, it is called the Immigrant Narrative of American History.  According to it ‘Americans’ are good people, indeed, the very best but only because we have opened our hearts, minds and national home to immigrants from wherever and whatever condition provided only that they be colored, POC (People of Color); that is, not White.  We know by this narrative that Whites have caused all the ills of the world while not deserving to live.

In the nineteenth century, it’s true that after the country became a nation in 1793 the immigrants, much to our shame today, were White, with the exception of African Negroes who were needed for work that White people wouldn’t do.  That immigration would have the direst consequences even though the Negroes are good hearted POC who wouldn’t never do nobody no harm.

The principle port of entry was NYC, first at a facility called Castle Gardens and then the fabled sacred site of the Immigrant Narrative, Ellis Island.  It was there that the ‘wretched refuse’ of ‘Europe’s teeming shore’ as Emma Lazarus’ poem quaintly expressed it and she pasted it on the base of the Statue of Liberty.  Thus the Immigrant National Narrative was enshrined.

They were coming to America as the Jewish poet Neil Diamond sang in the twentieth century from every country in Europe and a great many of them stuck in New York City giving that town its peculiar character.

Immigration was cut off at the knees by Conservative bigots beginning in the 1920s coinciding with that abominable experiment, Prohibition.  This was a license to steal for the immigrants.  Whoo, boy howdy, was that a combination- immigration and prohibition.  A third ingredient was the introduction of women’s suffrage.  The ladies obtained the vote.  And somewhen at this time the Hero of our national narrative also arrived in NYC, Damon Runyon.  He was the redoubtable historian with the national narrative much longed for by Carl Degler.

Damon Runyon sat in his favorite hangout of Mindy’s Deli in the heart of NYC’s Satan’s Square Mile and surveyed the scene.  Of course, his history is fictionalized but no matter it is accurate, playfully accurate.

Some will say his history is too one sided but then so are all national narratives, they’re all fictional too, cut to measure from the whole fabric.  It’s something like Einstein’s ‘fabric of space and time’ which no one has ever seen or touched but is still an article of faith.

For those who don’t know Damon Runyon, perhaps America’s least known historian, who wrote about ninety years ago, you may have seen an even more fictional representation of the work in the movie Guys And Dolls starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, two legendary characters that were once flesh and blood, if you follow them, in 1955 nearly seventy years ago if you’re still too young to remember.

So, Damon Runyon sat studying the immigrant type for that is what he portrays.  The key nationalities that he describes are the Irish, the Sicilians and the Jews.  The main Irish influx arrived in the 1840 and hence were the most assimilated, but only partially so, while the Jews and Sicilians were in the gold rush to America from 1890 to 1914.  Those two groups were all only partially assimilated, the Sicilians least of all.

In Runyon’s stories they are all criminals.  Like, who else hangs around in Satan’s Square Mile?  Runyon really romanticizes these criminal types.  Without knowledge of the situation they were all a bunch of lovable guys and dolls.  Who could not like the Butch of Butch Mind’s The Baby.  The only problem is that Butch is a killer wherein the humor of a thug minding a baby.

I first became acquainted with Runyon’s stories when I was sixteen.  Perhaps my attention was called to him by the movie Guys and Dolls that was released at that time.  Not being familiar with the context I was entranced by Runyon’s undeniable Flash.  I was knocked off my feet and remained so until the last several years.  Over time I reread the stories with a fair amount of regularity, each time gaining in worldly experience and a deepening sense of reality as to the deeper meaning of the stories content.

I still read the stories with some regularity having acquired original copies of the collections and a number of collections from a few stories to omnibus comprehensive collections.  However when I now read it is with a sickening realization of their underlying brutality.  For instance, the story, The Old Doll’s House, that particularly enchanted me, that involves a thug evading a shoot out in the process of which he jumps a wall and seeks refuge in the Old Doll’s house.

The Old Doll, we’re talking Guys and Dolls here and all women are Dolls, is a lady of advanced years.  As she is blind she can’t see the thug waving his gun around and pleased to have company invites him to tea.  Orienting himself the thug sees a clock that reads 12:30 which is the approximately correct hour.  A half hour later it still reads 12:30 and that clues him in to the fact that the Old Doll is blind. Now he won’t have to kill her because she can’t identify him.

The story stops being funny on the third or fourth reading, twenty or thirty years later.

And so with all the stories.  Dream Street Rose for instance.  On a first reading Dream Street has a figurative meaning but in fact, Dream St. is a couple of blocks in Satan’s Square Mile.  When they designate the square mile as Satan’s they aren’t just whistling Dixie either.  That square mile was the criminal sink of NYC, the US, the world and without doubt the universe and beyond.  The Metropole Hotel was there.

If you start researching Runyon’s characters you find people like the Jewish newspaper columnist Walter Winchell.  If you want a fictional portrayal of Walter Winchell view the movie The Sweet Smell Of Success.  And then there is the Jewish criminal mastermind called the Brain by Runyon who was Arnold Rothstein.  The Brain Goes Home is pretty much a true story.  The stories in their own way are real and out of the clothing of ‘poetry’, true.

At this time and experience in my life I find the stories blood curdling, even the Lily of St. Pierre, one of my favorites.  You need a little background to understand Lily.  St. Pierre is an island in the North Atlantic fishing grounds, back when the cod were plentiful.  During Prohibition the Mob moved in and used the island as a way station for booze.  St. Pierre et Miquelon was a French administrative unit.  So, the world was corrupted by Prohibition and ‘American’ immigrant criminals.

Of course, as ‘Americans’, these partially assimilated Immigrants blackened the eye of native Americans who were tarred with the same brush as these ‘American’ criminals.  And in the United States according to the Immigrant National Narrative those natives were styled ‘bigots’ and racists for declining to accept responsibility for what were actually native Europeans activities.

So, Miss Lepore and her hero Carl Degler, the ‘American’ historian may find no national narrative lacking; they’re just not looking in the right place.  The national narrative may not be very attractive but then it’s not very American either.   Immigration has consequences.

The March-April 1919 edition of Foreign Affairs so its cover proclaims, is a discussion of nationalism resulting it hopes in a New Nationalism.  I wasn’t too impressed.  The contributors are one step ahead of high school papers.  The issue might better have been called the New Globalism but put that aside and let us just interpret the image of the cover.  Perhaps subconsciously the CFR indicates its true mission.

The cover is a black and white composograph of a mass of forearms giving the Communist power salute.  You know how symbols go.  The Jews for instance co-opted the Star of David as a symbol of the Jewish nation in the Middle Ages.  As every organization needs a symbol to represent them, in answer to the Jewish symbol the German National Socialists adopted the ancient symbol of the Swastika in the twentieth century.  The National Socialists borrowed the Open Palm stiff armed salute from the Italian Fascists who in turn had borrowed it from the ancient Romans.

This left the Communists with a yellow hammer and sickle on a red flag for a symbol but no hand symbol.  Well, there were clever Communists too and they came up with the clenched fist and bent elbow salute.  Very attractive in a rough and ready way.  So, after, 1917, that salute represented the look out world, we’re taking over, defiant power salute.

Whether consciously or unconsciously the CFR globalists have adopted the aggressive Communist power salute.  That sign basically means get in line or we’ll kill you and this is verified by numerous incredible holocausts.

Above the raised fists emblazoned on the cover are the words:  The New Nationalism.  Communism is a one world universal or global ideology so one is led to think that New Nationalism is globalism under a disguise that, so to speak, leaves unbelievers without a country, or nation without a leg to stand on, outside the pale of Communist civilization and hence disposable.  The threat is palpable.

And then on page 42, one Richard Sopolsky, a Professor of Biology, Neurosurgery and Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University relates this parable under the title of The Biology of Us and Them:

He never stood a chance.  His first mistake was looking for food alone; perhaps things would have turned out differently if he’d been with someone else.  The second, bigger mistake was wandering too far up the valley into a dangerous wooded area.  This was where he risked running into the Others, the ones from the ridge above the valley.  At first, there were two of them, and he tried to fight, but another four crept up behind him and he was surrounded.  They left him there to bleed to death and later returned to mutilate his body.  Eventually, nearly 20 such killings took place, until there was no one left, and the Others took over the whole valley.

The protagonists in this tale of blood and conquest, first told by the primatologist John Mitani, are not people; they are chimpanzees in a national park in Uganda.  Over the course of a decade, the male chimps in one group systematically killed every neighboring male, kidnapped the surviving females, and expanded their territory.  Similar attacks occur in chimp populations elsewhere; a 2014 study found that chimps are about 30 times as likely to kill a chimp from a neighboring group as to kill one of their own.  On average eight males gang up on the victim.

 

If one compares this parable with the cover symbol one might be led to believe that what we have is an instructional tale.  In fact isn’t this what, more or less, the Antifa Fascisti are doing.  Isn’t this what Hillary Clinton was hinting at when she called opponents Deplorables.

As the Red hero, Victor Hugo, said about the Chouans, that they would never accept the Liberal Dispensation and hence they must be destroyed, eliminated, and in fact that’s what the French Revolution did, the French Revolution was the first great modern holocaust.  And then came another and another and yet another.  Is there any reason to imagine that we have reached the end of the great holocausts.  It may be too soon to tell and then…once again.

Let us return to the Bolshevik Revolution and come forward.  The Bolshevik Revolution, the October Revolution, occurred at the end of 1917.  At that time the War Industries Board in the US was in existence but not in its final form.  The WIB was reorganized in March of 1918 and Bernard Baruch was named its autocrat, its Czar with unlimited powers.  This cannot be too much emphasized; to oppose him was to incur his wrath and he could dispossess you of your industrial possessions.  Baruch then reorganized the US into a totalitarian State.  Between him and George Creel of the CPI- Committee of Public Information the State was put into a condition of Total War.

You look into the abyss and the abyss looks back at you.  The US was not isolated; what happened in the US didn’t necessarily stay in the US.  Europeans were watching and the US was setting examples.  The organization of the country and its peoples for Total War.  This organization of the Country for Total War was much admired by the soon to emerge NSDAP of Germany.  George Creel’s

 

astounding organization of propaganda under the auspices of the Committee for Public Information squelched all dissent and put the US in lockstep.

At the same time Baruch’s organization of not only industrial America but the regimentation or proposed regimentation of the people won the admiration of the Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini who organized Italy along the same lines to be followed by Wolf Hitler in Germany.  To this may be added that US businessmen viewed the right about face of American civilization from individualism to extreme collectivism with amazement.  They saw that the ability to manipulate the population so easily opened new doors.

Communism, like it or not, is a form of Judaism.  Fascism is a reaction to Communism and makes Fascism also related to Judaism in form.  Fascism was essentially a creation of Bernard Baruch who was Jewish thus confirming Fascism as a variation of Judaism.

So it was that the advent of Communism and its Fascist offshoot began to reorganize Western Civilization.  All the rules were changed overnight, but this was recognized by few people.  The majority continued to act according to established mores but those mores no longer produced the same result.  Thus the sense of direction was lost.  Still, a great Judaization of Western Civilization had been achieved.  Monumental.  Plus the years 1917-20 had been thrown into complete turmoil.  Perhaps the temporary wartime unanimity achieved in the US spoiled the Wilson administration.

President Wilson of the US had concocted a notion of a League of Nations that was supposed to function like clockwork to prevent future wars.  The League was actually formed in Europe but Wilson needed the consent of the Senate to permit the US to join.  Certain idealists or utopians were absolutely convinced of the League’s potential efficacy and were urgent in the need for its acceptance.  Other realists in the Senate scoffed at the idea and rejected the League.

Wilson nearly killed himself in campaigning for it but was incapacitated for life by a stroke instead.   The last two years of his presidency found him bedbound and unable to function.  It seems clear that otherwise he would sought a third term to achieve his purpose.  The Democratic candidates for the 1920 election, James Cox and Franklin Delano Roosevelt pledged to realize the League’s adoption.  The Republican candidate Warren Harding gave some vague assurances.  Harding won the election and the League was forgotten.

Now there came a crisis in ideology.  The advocates of the League felt they had the moral high ground while being absolutely right.  They were shattered by their rejection.  The feeling was not unlike when Donald Trump upset the plans of the League’s successors in the 2016 election. 

The feeling then was that the multitude of ‘deplorables’ could not be trusted to do the right thing, in effect that democracy was a failure.  It followed then that some method of control must be adopted to ensure that the public accepted the wishes of their betters.  The question was how.  Perhaps goaded to action by President Harding’s inauguration on March 5, 1921, on July 29^th, 1921 the members filed articles of incorporation as the Council On Foreign Relations.  The method was to work from the top down.  There was to be a new concept of democracy.  The CFR would select and groom both the candidates for the presidency.  The goal was a one party system, essentially a constitutional dictatorship not too dissimilar from the lines of the Soviet Union, Italy and finally Germany but with he illusion of choice and ‘democracy.’

Both candidates were to be selected by them so that barring differences in personal style the program would be the same.  The twenties were held by the rump of the post-Civil War Gilded Age GOP but with the 1932 election FDR became the CFR’s first president and with the possible exceptions of Kennedy and Nixon the CFR candidates were presidents until the current Donald Trump upset the plan.

The Jews, who although affiliated with the CFR, functioned autonomously.  As noted, the years 1918-21 were fraught with difficulties for them.  They, too, fearful of an uncontrolled public had to devise methods of thought control.  Fortunately for them their man, the psychologist Sigmund Freud, remained on post in Vienna until 1938 when because of the Nazi presence it was thought judicious for him to remove to England.

It is impossible to stress the importance of this man too much.  His influence has never been properly defined but in my opinion he is the ‘grey eminence’ behind the period from c. 1900 to c. 1945 although he committed suicide in 1939.  He had had cancer of the mouth for twenty years but it still hadn’t killed him.  The stench from his wounds was so bad that his dog wouldn’t come close to him preferring to sit on the far side of the room.  Tragic story, actually.

Freud, back at the turn of the century, said that he had abandoned hypnotism, then important in treating mental ailments.  He found, he said, that he could achieve as much by free association.  That is to say he had exchanged one method of hypnotism for another.  Now, hypnotism is merely suggestion on a prepared mind.  Thus masses of people could be hypnotized at once if you focused their minds and implanted the suggestion.  Thus by focusing the mind on the injustice of prejudice as defined by him one could implant the notion of anti-Semitism and that anti-Semitism was a sin or crime of the first magnitude; reprehensible to the nth degree.  The idea was sound but how to implement it; what could be the delivery system.

As I mentioned earlier Freud was a member of the Vienna lodge of the International Order of B’nai B’rith.  That group was a Jewish brotherhood based on the Freemasonic  order.  The Vienna lodge met once a week; Freud joined in 1895 and it is said that he attended religiously all his life until he left Vienna.  He said that their agenda was a match for his.  Freud’s agenda was to destroy Europe and Europeans.  Work it out from there.

The B’nai B’rith was and is an international order with headquarters in NYC.  All, or nearly all, of the leading Jewish figures in the US spent part or all of their summers in Europe.  It is impossible that they didn’t associate with leading figures of European Jewry to plan and conspire.

To use as an example Bernard Baruch, who said he spent his summers in Europe.  Baruch had been included in the US contingent to the Paris Peace Conference.  There he met and associated with  the leading Jewish figures as well as meeting many important Europeans including Winston Churchill with whom he had a close lifelong relationship, even to the point of advancing money that he didn’t expect to be returned.  He became fast friends with Churchill spending a week or so in London summers at his home while Churchill when in the US made Baruch’s NYC home his headquarters, according to Baruch.

It would seem certain that Baruch would make a pilgrimage to Vienna to make the acquaintance of the world famous Sigmund Freud.  My point here is summers in Europe were great strategy planning sessions for the Jews as Henry Ford indicated.

Now, ever since the Civil War the US had developed a reputation in Europe as a destination of freedom, liberty and economic abundance.  I can’t help but believe that Europeans saw Americans as simpletons.  Certainly the Jews saw the US as the place where their dream of dominion could be realized unlike Russia where most of them lived.

Already by 1914 millions were in the US while plans were in place to transfer the whole population of European Jewry to the US before the war intervened.

After the war the situation had completely changed. Whole areas were devastated, cities towns and villages destroyed.  Hardship and starvation everywhere.  US Jews rushed supplies to relieve Jewish distress.  From Germany to Russia the war hadn’t even ended as revolution and civil wars continued for years.  It is no wonder then that in addition to the whole Jewish population millions upon millions of Europeans were expected to flood into the US, a very desperate mass of people, impoverished and nasty whatevers.  Obviously the America of the past would be completely ruined.

Immigration had been building before the war.  Even in 1914 in the seven months before the war began 1.4 million people arrived.  The total for the year would have been well over two million, a record.  Even in 1920 over a million entered.  The prospect was for perhaps five million or more a year.  A totally unassimilable number.  Chaos would have ensued, clear to any sensible American mind.

Such a catastrophe had to be avoided hardwired internationalists were screaming ‘Let ‘em in, bring ‘em over.’  Totally insane.

But finally immigration controls were imposed.  National quotas were installed from 1921 to the 1924 Johnson Act.  Even then human traffickers smuggled in hundreds of thousands, but at least untold millions were kept at bay.  Jewish plans came to naught and the infra structure built at Galveston and New Orleans was never to be used.

Freud, then, devised the psychological assault on Western mores and culture.  Borrowing as always Freud had been greatly attracted by the Russian Ivan Pavlov and his studies on conditioning in the early first and second decades.  The French psychologist Gustav LeBon had made massive strides in the use of hypnotism by his studies in mob psychology that Freud absorbed and even credited to Le Bon, nearly unique for him.  The transitioning of the US from individualism to collectivism by wartime essentially hypnotism and conditioning had made a great impression on both camps.  The war had shown what could be done if the right conditions were created, the suggestions planted and repeated conditioning executed.

This begs the question, then, if the Great Depression had been a device to corrupt the US.  Certain psychological techniques were being developed  to direct public opinion.  These were called public relations and advertising.  One of the foremost practitioners of both was a Jewish fellow by the name of Edward Bernays.  As any student of Freud knows his wife was named Martha Bernays and yes, Edward Bernays was Freud’s nephew, and they did have a fairly close relationship.

Eddie Bernays, a US resident traveled to Vienna to visit his uncle from time to time.  They had long talks and summer walks.  Eddie Bernays had been associated with Bernard Baruch’s WIB and had kept his eyes open.  He had seen the public easily manipulated and was impressed.  Such manipulation was discussed in accordance with Freud’s and the B’nai B’rith agenda.  Freud gave Bernays a few of his writings to translate and publish which Eddie did.  By the twenties the propaganda machine had elevated Freud to one of the world’s three most influential men, along with Einstein and Marx giving in Jewish eyes and a large part of goyish eyes a trifecta, so that Eddie’s relationship with Freud didn’t hurt his career.

Eddie was cold and calculating. He would take any job.  During the twenties women were not great smokers.  Lucky Strike’s George Washington Hill, wanted to change that he hired Eddie.  Actually in order to keep prominent ad men from other employment he hired not only Bernays but the more important Ivy Lee along with the chief advertising agency of the time Albert Lasker’s Lord and Thomas of Chicago.  Eddie was paid the least.  Eddie in collaboration with fellow Freudian, A.A. Brill came up with the notion of calling cigarettes ‘freedom torches’; got together a group of young society women and on Easter Sunday 1929 had them light up for the NYC Easter Parade.  In those days the Easter Parade was a major event where men and women dressed in their very finest strolled through the main streets of town.  In his own way Eddie was corrupting Christianity.  Irving Berlin, of course, wrote one of his biggest hits about the Easter Parade which according to some Jewish writers turned Easter from a Christian religious event into a fashion parade.

Eddie had the photographers out and the NY Times put a feature on the Freedom Torches on the front page giving it maximum exposure.  Women’s mores were changed in the light of a flash bulb.

During the same time radio became a viable medium while sound was introduced to movies.  Television had actually been achieved this early while by the late thirties it would have been taken commercial but was delayed by the War emerging after in the late forties.  These tremendous propaganda tools would then go to work on American mores.

Just as an interesting aside, Sax Rohmer in one of his Fu Manchu stories of the late thirties had an interesting scene in which the TV screen was used to hypnotize certain subjects.  While Rohmer hypnotized one on one, the medium became one of the great mass hypnotic tools of our times.

It was necessary then to control the content of the emerging media propaganda tools.  The Jews, of course, deny controlling the media and they attack you as an anti-Semite if you point out the obvious.  The basic psychology of the period should be becoming clear.  The term anti-Semite was first used in 1875 by the German, Wilhelm Mars, and was appropriated by the Jews and has become the workhorse of their conditioning efforsts.  All these media were perfect as hypnoid producers.  To get your suggestion through you have to prepare the mind and the sight and sound of movies of movies and TV are the perfect media.  Mores are subtly changed, reputations made or destroyed.  Notions of good and bad are posited.  Slaves and guardians are identified.  By the sixties re-education through the media was in high gear.

Things were pretty rough in the twenties and thirties.  As WWI pointed out, wars are the perfect vehicles to prepare the mind to accept suggestions.  As has been pointed out the Paris Peace Treaties paved the way for WWII and the percipient figured out that would come in twenty years and so it did.   More important for the US the war began with FDR’s inauguration.  On the one hand the Jews immediately declared war on Germany and on the other Roosevelt was given dictatorial full war powers to ‘wage war on the depression.’  So, he fumbled through his first two terms waging war on the depression and changing American mores to an incredible degree.  A war mentality, then, prevailed throughout Roosevelt’s presidency.

Baruch was plumping for war from 1920 on and that accelerated with FDR’s presidency.  He was insisting on preparedness, thus pretty much the war machine that the Prussians were condemned for and which we have achieved since the end of WWII.  It was what Eisenhower called the Industrial Military Complex.  In other words everything WWII was fought against.  Preparedness would advance the collectivity that the Jews desired while a propaganda machine along the lines of the Creel Committee would keep people agitated and open to suggestion much as we have today.

With WWII on their horizon whoever controlled mores when the war came would control the shots.  The Democrats figured that after Harding died the colorless Coolidge would be easy to defeat in 1924.  Coolidge fooled them and the Coolidge Prosperity, the New Era, the land of millionaires followed.  Then when Herbert Hoover handily defeated Al Smith in 1928 the handwriting was on the wall.  If the prosperity continued, when the 1940 and the projected war occurred, according the Democrats the wrong people would be calling the shots and the opportunity to remake the country in the Liberal and Jewish image would be missed.

However, if a great depression occurred during Hoover’s administration continuity would be broken and the Democrats would get in and be in when the war and opportunity to reorganize the country could begin in dead earnest.

Wilson had created the Federal Reserve in 1913 and the creation was peculiar.  The Federal Reserve is a private bank and outside the control or even influence of the president.  While Hoover has been criticized for not reining in the Stock Market all he could is plead with the Federal Reserve to raise the discount rate which he did and was ignored.  It follows then that the Fed knew exactly what was happening and making it happen.

The owners of the bank, the Federal Reserve, are nine international, eight since Lehman went bust, plus the Rockefeller interests.  They are the only authorized issuers of US currency.  They print the money and they collect interest on its use.  Every dollar you possess is paying interest to the ten banks of the Fed.

The Fed controls the Discount rate hence the expansion and contraction of the economy.  This is solely at the discretion of the Jews.  A wonderful if risky way of buying stocks, speculating, is buying on margin.  That is, that by putting up a percentage of your own money you can buy 100 percent of the stock.  Of course you’re paying interest to the banks on the borrowed margin, which is a nice deal for the banks as your stocks are collateral.  If your stock prices contract to a certain point you will have a margin call and be required to deposit more of your own money to fill in the margin.  If you are unable to do this, your speculation fails completely and you are bust.  A certain risk, you see.  So, after having encouraged the speculation the Fed raised the discount rate and the crash occurred.  Over production of goods was said to be the cause.  OK.

Today the maximum margin you can borrow is fifty percent.  In other words if you have hundred dollars in an account you can borrow fifty dollars.  In the twenties the margin was 90%.  That is, if you had a hundred dollars you could buy a thousand dollars worth of stock but you were really strung out.  Obviously, a very small drop in the price of your stocks would elicit a margin call.  The lower margin requirement was a dog whistle for speculators.

Once again, President Hoover has been castigated for not ordering the Fed to increase the discount rate earlier to curb speculation before it got out of hand and reduce the speculative fever.  But as the Fed, a private corporation, was legally outside the president’s control, all he could do was remonstrate which he did.  Thus, just as speculation was at the highest fever pitch the Fed lowered the discount rate and pushed speculation beyond supportable limits; the market came crashing down, and it continued to do so during Hoover’s presidency.

In his autobiography Hoover says that all his recovery efforts were negated by destructive forces as he seemed to on the verge of success.  Now, the CFR was founded in 1921.  In 1930 Hoover was told to toe the line in the way of collectivism and refused.  As a representative of the Old America he was an individualist.  But his refusal meant that he was a marked man.  Times were changing under the influence of Communist collectivism.  The way was being prepared for what Eugene Lyons called The Red Decade, the title of his book, of the thirties and essentially the Roosevelt Administration.  Judaism, Fascism, National Socialism are all variations of the same thing, so lesson’s learned under the fascistic rule of Baruch’s WIB now seemed very attractive.  Hoover warned emphatically that if Roosevelt were elected collectivism would replace individualism.  The electorate didn’t understand or didn’t care.

Roosevelt’s election released repressed collectivism from the repression of the Republican Interregnum and the forces of collectivism flooded back into Washington DC.

The contest for the soul of America was renewed with a vengeance.  While the Jews had been excluded by the three twenties’ Republican presidents that did not mean that they were idle.  The noise of the seven year Ford campaign had provided a cover for Jewish activities.  Even though Harding had suppressed the Communist revolution in the US during the first year of his administration  and J. Edgar Hoover became the first director of the new Federal Bureau of Investigation and made his mission the destruction of Communism the socialist impulse was so strong and diverse that it regrouped and functioned as a clandestine organization working underground until Der Tag arrived  Roosevelt’s election was Der Tag, the day.

As mentioned the hastening of the day was being continued above ground in a surreptitious way by manipulation of the currency by the Federal Reserve.  Not surprisingly Bernard Baruch in his role as Czar of the WIB included the management of the currency as a weapon in organizing the country for total war.  Hence the war carried on using the currency as a weapon.  The engineered stock market crash of 1929 was the Jewish equivalent of Pearl Harbor.

The crash and the prolongation of the depression reopened the door for the re-entry into Washington and the control of the US no matter how limited by traditions that have never been overcome.  Those mores are well founded. 

The US was placed on a war footing with the reentry of the Democrats immediately.  FDR was given by Congress the role of dictator with full wartime powers, in the ‘war’ against the depression.  And this was a war that would never be resolved until the Jewish war against Germany began in 1940-42.  In actual fact the Jews in the US declared war on Germany in 1933 when their US spokesman the NYC lawyer  and AJC official, Samuel Untermyer announced it.  He indirectly spoke in the name of the United States of America with Franklin Delano Roosevelt presiding.

Trump’s ‘Lucky Year’ Is To End.

The Council On Foreign Relations is finally putting its cards on the table in an article published in its magazine Foreign Affairs.  The article was scheduled for the March-April issue but the CFR found it important enough to release it in advance on the internet.  Thus the article will be free for one week beginning on 1/20/18.  Can it be a coincidence that the article was released on 1/20 on the eve of the Shumer Shutdown  of the government?

The article is titled Trump’s Lucky Year:  Why The Chaos Can’t Last by Eliot A. Cohen and admits that the Pres.’ first year has been a success but that his ‘luck’ has run out now.  The CFR wants a return to the seventy year post-war agenda.  The Pres. has upset that agenda and will continue to destroy its foundations and will succeed if allowed to continue in office unobstructed.

The CFR has always gone to great lengths to remove presidents from office who won’t follow their program.  The CFR was founded in 1921 to advance the socialistic program of Woodrow Wilson.  The first hindrance came when Warren G. Harding was elected in 1920.  While he hinted that he might advance Wilson’s program and bring the US into the League of Nations he didn’t follow through.

Under strange circumstances Harding died two years into his presidency.  While the conditions of his demise are still undetermined I have no doubts that the CFR removed him.  It was believed that Harding’s lackluster VP, Calvin Coolidge, would be easily defeated in 1924.  Such did not turn out to be the case and Coolidge lived to pass the presidency on to Herbert Hoover in 1928.

The Federal Reserve had been building toward a stock market crash during what was called the Coolidge Prosperity and six months into the Hoover presidency the Fed pulled the plug plunging the country into twelve years of agonizing economic misery salvaged only by two massive world wars, one in Europe and one in the Pacific, that is, Asia.

‘Lucky’ Trump’s second year bids fair to be as or more successful as he barrels ahead with his own program that negates that of he CFR’s.  It would appear that assassination is not to be considered.  However the 2018 congressional elections that the CFR imagines will give them an overwhelming majority in both houses would stultify Trump’s presidency placing him in the CFR’s hands.  The best that Trump could hope for would be Hoover’s fate.

To achieve this, given the fair omens for the Pres.’ second year they have to follow the Hoover scenario and sabotage what bids to be the Great Trump Prosperity.

Therefore, can it be a coincidence that this article was rushed to advance free publication on the very eve of the Shumer Shutdown of the government?  CFR, Cohen written article, Shumer Shutdown.  The article had to be planned and written at least two or three weeks before the Shumer Shutdown thus it follows that the Shumer Shutdown was planned as a ploy to scuttle Trump some time ago..

The plan shows how little the CFR, Dems, the Left, care for the welfare of the voters of the United States.  The Shumer Shutdown has begun.  The Pres. cannot fold and probably the CFR will carry it to great extremes placing the economy in jeopardy not unlike the Great Stock Market Crash of 1929.  In fact, the key point of the incipient Great Trump Prosperity has been that startling advance of the stock market. That means that something over 50% of the public that owns securities has already improved their finances considerably and bid fair to improve further.  That means that the Pres.’ base has improved considerably.  There can be little doubt that substantial numbers of immigrants have invested and benefited  so they may be reluctant to give up their gains by not voting Trump in ’18.

Thus, the CFR is willing to risk a stock market crash, one that is almost certain now, while putting in jeopardy the welfare of all the peoples resident in the US and perhaps all the peoples of the world.  This is the madness of the CFR.

The Pres. cannot give in without destroying his presidency now and it is possible that the CFR will not in complete contempt of every living US resident, possibly every person in the world. 

CFR, Cohen, Shumer Shudown.  Those behind this incipient disaster should be clear to all.
