The Lowdown On CO2

hat's on my mind today is CO2. Let's examine CO2. CO2 is a heavier than air gas. It apparently is important to the heating and cooling of the planet. As it is heavier than the surrounding air it naturally falls to the ground This is beneficial as the C or carbon part is picked up by the roots of foliage and in the case of trees forms the wood while the O2 is exhaled from the green foliage thus helping to regulate the oxygen in the system. During the glacial period of the ice age, it being very cold so that the atmosphere is unable to hold the CO2 in the same quantities as the warm moist air of the Interglacial period. If you remember a few years back there was great concern that the warming period was melting the CO2 rich permafrost where the glacial period had stored it re-releasing it into the atmosphere where it regulated the air to a warming as is only natural. However in the interim of the two periods mankind had learned to consume CO2 rich natural products thus adding to the natural CO2 some little. Well, the doomsday projections were terrible. But it appears that as the air cools in advance of the glacial period beginning that the CO2 will be precipitated back to earth clearing the skies when the glacial period begins in earnest to return it to the permafrost. Of course the glacial period is a few Ages and several thousands of years in the future, but be patient, everything is going to be alright but very much cooler.
