Humor In The News

Humor In The News

by

R.E. Prindle

This is the funniest news paragraph I’ve read in a very long time.  From The WSJ 9/14/19 headline:  China Waives Tariffs On U.S. Farm Goods.

China will exempt purchases on U.S. soybeans, pork and other agricultural products from punitive tariffs, in a move that appears aimed at addressing one of President Trump’s demands during the protracted trade war
Oops.  China can’t feed itself.  They require US soybeans, pork and other essentials that they can’t provide for themselves.  Oops.  They think they’re doing the US a favor by removing ‘punitive’ tariffs. Not at all.  What they are doing is demanding that the US provide them with food essentials. Begging even.   How hilarious this is.

What President Trump should say is that no, no, if you want us to feed you then you must provide us with an incentive and that is this and this and this and this.  Then, no problem, we are shaking hands.  The very idea that the Chinese are caving to US demands!  How can I or anyone else stop laughing.  Concede or starve China.  What about those other sources from whom you were going to buy?  Well, what about them?

And my message to leeching US farmers is this.  The Pres. Has put you in the driver’s seat.  You can expect no more problems from the Chinese.  Now that you can recoup every dime you temporarily lost from China you can repay the American people every goddamn billion you extorted from us in your anguish.  Give that money back.  We need it.  You have been compensated and how.

Slavery In America

Slavery In America

by

R.E. Prindle

Let’s get something straight about the different forms of slavery that have existed in the United States.  In the first place no one has clean hands, just as in Africa, even Negroes had slaves in the US and elsewhere in the New World, even in Haiti.  Whites owned chattels in the South, Northern Whites mined Europe to work in their factories as wage slaves to keep labor costs minimal.

Slavery in the US, other than sex slavery that is still tolerated today, had three forms:  chattel slavery, indentured slavery and wage slavery.

Indentured slavery was part and parcel of US history from its very beginning.  Indentured slavery was White men ‘owning’ White people according to contract.  A person for whatever reason indentured himself for a period of years after which he was supposed to be freed.  There were many ways for his master to increase the period.  During the period of his indenture he was another man’s slave.  At the same time adults and children were shanghaied from the streets of London and England for sale in the colonies.

These Whites usually described as indentured ‘servants’ were slaves in fact.   Many, many indentured ‘servants’ worked cheek by jowl with the Negro chattel slaves in the fields.  In that manner White women bore many Negro children thus diluting the African blood.

Chattel slavery of Negroes was legal in every English colony, there were no exceptions.  In certain States such as Massachusetts and Connecticut chattel slavery was not commercially viable and it fell into disuse.  After 1812 Chattel slavery was discontinued at varying times by the various States.   Chattel slavery existed in Northern States nearly to the beginning of the Civil War.  Nor did the Emancipation Proclamation pertain to any chattel slaves in slave holding States that were not in rebellion.  Thus, only Negro slaves in the deep South were affected by Emancipation.

Now, just as chattel slavery was not viable in States like Massachusetts and Connecticut it did not suit the manufacturing economy of the North otherwise chattel slavery would have existed North of the Mason-Dixon line.

The basis of slavery was providing the producers with labor.  Slavery was a labor problem.  In the agricultural South, especially in the cotton belt, slavery was the best labor mode possible because the laborers were tied to the land and couldn’t migrate.

Providing for the slaves was the Producers responsibility, hence food, clothing and shelter was provided as a cost of doing business.  There were no Negro chattel slaves that went hungry.  Conditions might vary but the slaves had to be cared for.  If you read in the Negro slave narratives, available on the Internet, you will be amazed at what you find.

One ex-slave didn’t regret slavery that much because he said the you never went hungry in those days.  If wanted food you culled a hog from herd, killed it, roasted it and ate it.  Whether that was universal or not the chattel slaves did not go hungry or unclothed.

In the North where producers wanted labor at the lowest possible cost they had to resort to wage slavery.  The industrialists worked their wage slavery.  The industrialists worked their wage slave harder than any chattel slave.  The wage slaves worked in horrible conditions for twelve hour a day seven day a week for a pittance.  The wage slavers provided nothing but that pittance.  Where possible they resorted to using children, young children, and women and paid them even less than a pittance.

The wage slaves then were on their own lookout for food, clothing and shelter.  All those indefensible shanty towns.  In all cases they were less well off than the Agricultural slaves.  The Negroes definitely had it better.

While the chattel slaves were required by law to a certain level of benevolence, the wage slave had no protections whatever.   If in desperation they resisted exploitation by trying to organize they were shot down dead.  They were blacklisted and were unemployable.  Hence a reason for armies of hoboes roaming the land.

The ‘Saints’ from New England, the Holy Abolitionists whose sea captains bought in Africa and sold in the New World, that is North and South America and the Caribbean were also those who sought cheap White labor from European countries.  The principle was to have as many different nationalities and languages as possible in order to make it difficult to combine for better wages and working conditions.  Slavery was slavery and conditions were harsher for wage slaves than for chattel slaves.

Thus Negroes have no more to complain about than Whites.  Slavery was part of the woof and warp of the fabric of American society.

Lincoln freed certain of the slaves in 1860 and then came Henry Ford to ameliorate the conditions of the wage slaves.  Lincoln was murdered for his role in ending chattel slavery and Henry Ford has been a victim of horrible character assassination for his role in ameliorating wage slavery.  Most likely the reason that good men are hard to find.

China's Agricultural Dream

China’s Agricultural Dream

by

R.E. Prindle

I have read where some people condemn Pres. Trump’s Chinese tariffs because China ‘retaliated’ by placing a 50% tariff on sorghum causing a few ships bearing a sorghum cargo to return to port.  This was supposed to be disastrous for American farmers.

In the 5/7/18 issue of the Wall Street Journal there appears this article:  Syngenta Pushes Plant Research in China.  It is of some interest.  I quote the first four paragraphs:
China is seeking a lead in editing plant genes, potentially shifting the epicenter of the emerging agricultural technology toward the East.

Syngenta AG, the seed and chemical giant now owned by state-owned China National Chemical Corp., is building up a Beijing hub for developing new gene-editing technologies like Crispr-Cas9, which enable new ways to alter DNA.

The company also intends to piggyback off research being pursued by Chinese universities and access a broader talent pool than rivals like Monsanto Co. and DowDuPont Inc.  compete for in the U.S.

“The government is very supportive of this technology in China,” said Erik Fyrwald, Syngenta’s chief executive, who said the company is investing tens of millions of dollars to develop gene editing.  “It’s just natural for us to build it up there for China, and for the world.”

That is helping to stoke long-running worries among U.S. farmers, academics and companies that the forefront of agricultural science could swing from the U.S. Farm Belt to China, where the government has encouraged the development of large-scale Western-style farming operations to boost domestic food production and rely less on imports.
As you can see China does not have the talent to develop the technology on their own so they bought a European research ‘giant’ to acquire the latest technology and Aryan talent thus starting from a higher level and hopefully build from that.  We’ll see.

It seems clear that China is hoping to become self-sufficient agriculturally as well as industrially.  Thus whatever else happens we can expect them to reduce their agricultural imports from the US.  We can expect them to grow crops for all their needs including sorghum.  It is only a question of how long it will take them to become self-sufficient thus destroying whatever agricultural business is being done with the US.  These sorghum shipments are only the tip of the iceberg.

Free Trade obviously means nothing to China, it only means something to the dunces of the West.  China does not intend to trade, they intend to become self-sufficient and sell only, not part of any world trade organization but being the world trade organization and masters of the world.

Why the US and Europe are so thick that they can’t perceive this is probably the result of four hundred years of Aryan success and an unadmitted feeling of comfortable superiority over the ‘little yellow man.’  At one time this feeling of superiority may have been justified and Kingdom. real but now the race lacks the will to maintain it.  We will watch the world sink into the ancient lethargy of the Middle

President Trump At Davos

President Trump At Davos:

The Changing Tides Of Time

By

R.E. Prindle

President Trump attended the Davos conference, one imagines, to set the contemporary business men’s minds at ease.  If they recognized it he was advising them of the end of an era.  The United States of the seventy year Liberal consensus is over.  The US will no longer give itself away wholesale.

It will no longer be the patsy of the world, giving without receiving, propping up every two bit economy with our bounteous millions  or billions.  No!  The US will begin to look out for itself.  Times have changed; the post-war world has disappeared and a new age is dawning that requires a different strategy.

The US has been propping up the world since the civilizational Time of Troubles began in 1914.  It rescued Europe from itself  and thereby Western Civilization first during the European thirty years war from 1914-45 and through the subsequent seventy years of disturbances of the emerging culture after the dissolution of the colonial empires and the revival of the Moslem holy wars and their bid to conquer the world.

President Trump is an odd mix of conservative realism and Liberal utopianism.  For some reason he maintains his daughter Ivanka and her Jewish husband Jared in some kind of sinecures in the White House.  Both are determined Liberals who would be much better employed minding the store back in NYC.

There is serious work to be done requiring reality-based minds.  One begin to have confidence in the Pres. who as he unrolls his plans give solid evidence that he is putting in place a vision that he has evolved over his decades of watching monumental mismanagement of affairs by inept politicians of both parties.  The shameful political misconduct of the Obama years is much to be regretted.

Thus, while the Pres. seems to have a firm grip of short term solutions it remains to be seen how he will address the long term actually unsolvable problems.  The long astronomical  summer of four thousand years lie ahead with its concomitant ice melt and rising sea levels.  As we should be somewhere about the equivalent of July in the Great Year temperatures will vary as they do during annual summers but they should be at mid-summer temperatures now.  They will not go on rising indefinitely.  One should expect continued ice melt of several thousand feet in Greenland and possibly in Antarctica, although ice cores there record a couple hundred thousand years in so the melt there should be relatively superficial.

The ice melt is beyond human intervention but rising seas will have to be planned for and should be on the Pres.’ back burner.  Of more immediate concern is the impossibility of civilization continuing on its current course.  The sheer volume of man made waste created every day now not only in the West but in the world will soon swamp us.  The oceans are polluted  to an unbelievable measure.  Immense areas are uninhabitable for fish as swirling Sargasso seas of floating plasticwares even obstruct navigation.  Beneath the water surface oceans of pulverized plastic waste is suspended  too heavy to float and too light to sink to the bottom.  There is not other repository for the stuff.  There was a report of killer whales confronting Arctic fishing boats in protest of diminishing food supplies from over fishing.

In the skies there are too many airplanes while with a world restored to prosperity and the enrichment of three billion Chinese, Indians and other East Asians flying will be  added to the overloading of the skies.  This must injure the atmosphere.  On land it is impossible that automobile traffic can be sustained.  How long can resources last to    build thirty, forty, fifty million cars a year?  How much land area can be devoted to traffic infrastructure without completely destroying farmlands?  How long before grid lock?

As I say, short term immediate problems are probably already solved in the President’s mind, but what plans are there for adjusting to addressing shorelines, how are transportation problems to be addressed, how are resources to be conserved or amplified- a resource such as water in light of an advancing population of millions very year.

Is anyone considering how the US is to support a population of half a billion with coastlines advancing and desiccation impending.  Isn’t it time to take action? or will we wait till the problems have no solution.

Are we to go the way of the dinosaurs?

The Future Of President Donald Trump

The Future Of President Donald Trump

by

R.E. Prindle

The Democrats are in a bind.  They have a president they despise who if he is allowed to succeed will destroy their whole agenda.  Not since Herbert Hoover defeated their designated candidate, Al Smith, have they faced a bleaker future.

The Democrats had captured the presidency  in 1912 when a divided Republican Party was defeated by a decidedly minority candidate Woodrow Wilson.  Wilson recorded only slightly more votes than an almost equally split vote between the Party candidate, Taft, the insurgent candidate T. Roosevelt.  In other words the combined Republican vote was a landslide endorsement of Republicans.

Wilson, as any Democrat, was sure that God’s own wisdom flowed through his brain.  He thought himself virtue incarnate.  Sure that he was the only one able to guide the nation he intended to run for a third term in 1920.  His connection with God’s brain was  severed when his own was paralyzed by a stroke.

The Democrats had no good backup candidate so the Republicans waltzed in with a candidate little more popular with the Dems than our own Donald Trump, Warren G. Harding.  Harding, like Trump, refused to follow the Liberal agenda while restoring prosperity to the nation.

Harding died mysteriously, succeeded by his colorless VP Calvin Coolidge who was thought to be a sure loser.  Contradicting the pundits Coolidge surprised, capturing the presidency on his own.  His presidency was known was known as the phenomenal Coolidge Prosperity.  A New Era with a car in every garage and two chickens in every pot.

Coolidge chose not to run for re-election and that brought Herbert Hoover, one of the greatest of Americans, to the fore.  He easily routed the Dem Al Smith.  Prosperity, a Republican prosperity, was at its peak.  If that continued it was certain that Hoover would be re-elected and after him probably another Republican for another eight long years.  The future looked dim for the Dems.

Only a great economic disaster could bring the Republicans down; the Federal Reserve easily handled that, engineering the Stock Market Crash of 1929. while others interfered with Hoover over the next three years preventing his ability to pull the country from the Great Depression.  A then nearly, or actually, incompetent Democrat by the name of Franklin Delano Roosevelt took Hoover’s place thus keeping the country in Depression for seven long years and then he dragged the country into a totally destructive war that could easily have been avoided and next he blew the peace.

Thank you, Democrats.

In our time the Democrat Barack Obama led the country into a ruinous situation attempting to abort capitalism.  The Dems under Obama had all but succeeded and would have succeeded if Hillary Clinton had not been out maneuvered by the unexpected and unwanted candidate, Donald Trump.

Now, as with Warren G. Harding, it appears that President Trump is leading the country into a prosperity to rival that of the Coolidge prosperity.  The fear of the Dems is that if allowed to succeed Trump will be reelected while the future may be lost to the Dems for twenty years or more.  They cannot let this happen.  Thus, they may plunge the country into another horrendous depression to discredit the President as with Herbert Hoover or, failing that, an assassination as with Warren G. Harding.

They have furiously dug a hole for themselves in trying to set up some sort of impeachment process even though the President has committed no high crimes or misdemeanors.  The whole charge seems to be that he was not their chosen candidate and had no right to win.

In an attempt to weaken the President they are now going after a key advisor Steve Bannon trying to discredit him in the President’s eyes and divide him from the President.  This must not be allowed to happen.  No machination against the President can be allowed to be taken seriously.  An uncritical foul must be called as an instinctive reaction.  Smear the Dems back.

Track down every Dem elected or candidate and expose their peccadilloes, sexual or economic, they all have them.  Unprovable sex violations have proven to be most viable as witness  the Republican Roy Moore of Alabama.  Go after their wives, many affairs are hidden there.

Be aggressive not passive, this is a war to the end, attack and defend simultaneously.  Be anonymous if possible.  Deny everything.

Barry's Blather: Jobs For Every American

Barry’s Blather:

Jobs For Every American

State Of The Union Speech 2014

by

R.E. Prindle

The idea’s I’ve outlined so far

Can speed up growth and create more jobs.

But in this rapidly changing economy

We have to make sure

That every American

Has the skill to fill those jobs.

Here Barry shifts into blather deluxe mode. What do these two well sounding sentences mean?

Underlying them is the notion that the economy has been nationalized. The needs of industry are not going to dictate ‘speeded up growth’ and ‘creating more jobs’ but that process is going to be dictated by Barry from Washington DC through such government agencies as The American Job Centers, a new one on me, ‘places where folks can walk in to get help or training they need to find a new job’ or, get this, ‘better job.’

Barry’s floating around in the ozone in total cognitive disconnect.

This sentence means that any prospective employee is dependent on a socialist politicized government for a favor which undoubtedly would have to be repaid, I mean, everybody must give something for something they get, right? if by nothing else than loyalty to his governmental benefactor. In other words it’s back to the nineteenth century views of Karl Marx.

Who can walk right in and be handed a job? Every American. Sounds good doesn’t it? But, who is an American? Barry has already said that to improve the economy, grow it, he’s going to import millions of immigrants in addition to those already illegally here who have ‘earned’ the right to be American citizens. In Barry’s lexicon these are ‘new Americans.’

So, where are these additional Americans to come from out of the potential eight billion Americans out there?

Largely from the jungles and deserts of Africa. These are people who don’t speak English while they are totally ignorant of the requirements of a high technology civilization. Boy, are they going to need training, and support while they’re getting it. Barry and his boy Holder have already demonstrated that they are giving precedence to ‘their people’ so there is no reason to suppose they will not give precedence to these ‘new Americans’ from Africa over ‘old Americans.’

So while Barry says ‘every American’ can just walk in it is obvious that certain ‘Americans’ are going to be more equal than others for these jobs Barry is going to create. They don’t exist yet. Barry will have us believe that he is going to ‘create’ these jobs out of whole cloth or thin air. Unfortunately he hasn’t found the pattern yet having lost many more jobs than this maestro has created in his first five years.

Does anyone, can anyone, have any confidence, even a smidgen, in the blather of this pseudo-religious, utopianist, Communist blowhard.

No.

Martin Luther King did nothing for all Americans and neither has the Blather Master General. Nor will he. Put him on a boat back to Kenya.
