A Review of Fareed Zakaria In Foreign Affairs

Zakaria, Fareed: The New China Scare, Foreign Affairs, Jan-Feb 2020

Mr. Zakaria subtitles his screed:  Why America Shouldn’t Panic About Its Latest Challenger, that is, China.  My objection to Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zakaria and the whole Leftist-Liberal Establishment is that while professing to be far in advance than the Conservatives they cling to the whole post-WWII fantasy of American hegemony or supremacy.  That time is gone.  We are now living in a new Global era which is inter-locked economically while national sovereignty is taking a much diminished role.

Because of the shifting of whole national populations into the United States it is no longer possible, if it ever was, to speak of a unit called America.  America was a dream of the past.  Because of the extreme diversity of the US there is not one but several ethnic Americas.  The Chinese themselves already have a significant presence in the US and are inundating our neighbor to the North, Canada.  These domestic Chinese identify more with China than the US so it is not appropriate to speak of a China while disregarding its ex-pats in the rest of the world.  It is more or a Chinese diaspora and has to be dealt with as such.

Mr. Zakaria is himself a Moslem and in speaking of his ‘chosen’ country he speaks of it as an other and not as his own.  Thus in his subtitle he speaks that ‘America shouldn’t Panic.’  We, who have been born here, perhaps several generations ago, don’t recognize the China problem as panic, we recognize China as a competitor on the world stage that is seeking world dominance or, put another way, it wants to be the Top Country.  China being 90 some percent of the same ethnic group, Han Chinese doesn’t have the identity problem that the US does.  China does not cater to its minority peoples they dominate and subordinate them as with the Uigurs on its Eastern frontier.  Nor are they polite; they round the Uigurs up, put them in concentration camps and ‘indoctrinate’ them out of their ways, which are Moslem, into Chinese ways.  If Europe or the US would attempt that the world, including the Chinese, would put up a howl.  Yet if the West wants to maintain its culture it must ‘indoctrinate’ its minorities as the Chinese do.  Even the Hindus of India have belatedly become aware that their culture is under threat from the Moslems and repressive measures are being taken.

Let us be clear there is no China Scare in the US contrary to Mr. Zakarias assertion.  We are dealing with the new Global situation on a calm rational basis.

By a New China Scare Mr. Zakaria does not mean to refer to a second China scare, he is referencing the defensive measures taken against the Communist threat after WWI and WWII.  By ‘scare’ he means an irrational response to an imaginary threat.  Thus he tries to force the facts to fit his narrative. 

In point of fact there was a Communist threat that had to be quelled.  After WWI the alert and astute Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer rose to the occasion rounding the Communists up and actually deporting a few hundred to the Socialist Homeland, the Soviet Union.  His efforts were compromised by the Domestic Reds in prominent positions.

After WWII HUAC rose to the occasion abetted by 1950 with the activities of the courageous Senator Joseph McCarthy who also were defeated by internal Communist forces, but the Communist momentum was derailed after both wars and forced to reorganize.

Now, Zakaria follows the official CIA line in which ignorant American fears dominate their actions.  Thus they say that in both the aftermath of WWI and WWII there were no Communist threats and the effective responses to defuse those threats were merely panic attacks.  While our great generals had won the wars and our brave American soldiers had outfought their terrible enemies immediately on arriving home they had panic attacks rather than recognizing enemy tactics.  In WWI Mitchell Palmer who acted so magnificently has been defamed as a paranoid dodo.

After WWII Pres. Truman’s actions are characterized this way by Zakaria following the CFR playbook:

In February 1947, US President Harry Truman huddled with his most senior policy advisors, George Marshall, and Dean Acheson and a handful of Congressional leaders.  The topic was the administration’s plan to aid the Greek government in the fight (scary response in Mr. Zakaria’s thought processes) against a Communist insurgency.  Marshall and Acheson presented their case for the plan.  Arthur Vandenberg, chair of the Senate Committee On Foreign Relations, listened closely and then offered his support with a caveat.  “The only way you are going to get what you want,” he reportedly told the president, “is to make a speech and scare the hell out of the country.”

Now, one might say that Pres. Truman, acting in his capacity and duty as the President, presented his speech to alert the country to the threat of World Communist domination which was real and imminent at the time having been encouraged by the Communist sympathizer former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who Vice President Truman succeeded after having been purposely kept ignorant of the world situation even though Roosevelt was obviously a sick and dying man.

Zakaria says that Pres. Truman was not rational but an irrational scare tactician manipulating the country to get what he wanted.  Zakaria could have co-written Howard Zinn’s trashy history.  This is the way that the Left discredits by insinuation and defamatory characterization ignoring the facts.

Mr. Zakaria continues:

Over the next few months, Truman did just that.  He turned the civil war in Greece into a test of the United States ability to confront international communism.

You see how Zakaria turns the situation from an internationally communist backed insurgency into a civil war, and instead of an international defense against the spread of communism into an ego test of the United States ability to confront international communism.  Obviously Truman and the US was at fault and not Joseph Stalin and international communism.  Thus we go from a communist insurgency to a civil war, to a ‘test’ against international communism.  This says something as to why the CFR would allow such trash in their magazine.

Reflecting on Truman’s expansive rhetoric about aiding democracies anywhere, anytime, Acheson confessed in his memoirs that the administration had made an argument “clearer than truth.”  Something similar is happening today in the American debate about China.

Unquote.

Not the negative characterization of the phrase ‘Truman’s expansive rhetoric about aiding democracies anytime, anywhere’ and Acheson ‘confessed.’  Did he really confess or merely state what might have been an obvious truth to him.  And his ‘clearer than truth’ may be meant positively rather than negatively.  It can possibly be read both ways but Zakaria make Acheson ‘confess’ which is negative.  This is the Leftist way.

Perhaps English is Mr. Zakaria’s second language while Arabic is his first. Oh, I know, I know, even though Mr. Zakaria is a Moslem he is as ‘American’ as apple pie.  He may even have been born here, right?

Mr. Zakaria says that similar to the ‘Red Scares’ is happening today  in the American debate about China.  Not true, there is nothing similar at all.  This is a different time, different circumstances and a different grope for power.  What Americans should panic about is Mr. Zakaria’s being given space to spin his anti-American vitriol.  Would it be out of line to ask from which university Mr. Zakaria received his degree in history?

Trading Friends Or Enemies?

We’ve got a new flap concerning old grievances.  The Sunday (7/25/19) New York Times, our arbiter on which news is fit to print and which isn’t, has published a front page article condemning Pres. Trump’s recent tweet encouraging US companies to move back to the US.  The Times is outraged that anyone would consider China an enemy, that is pursuing purely Chinese goals at everyone else’s expense.  In some circles such self-centeredness would be considered aggression but not the NYT.

For decades now Americans have been complaining about the lack of transparency in governmental decisions.  Heck, Obama even ran as a transparent candidate but then reneged immediately on election.  We have it now.  Pres. Trump is so transparent that he tweets his goals and objectives on a daily basis in the what the NYT derogatively designates as ‘tweet storms.’

I guess there’s transparency and then there’s transparency.  There’s a good transparency and a bad transparency.  We’ve never seen the former and now that we have the latter we’ll have to accept that as a step forward.

At any rate, what is clear to everyone not a Liberal is that China has been taking advantage of America’s good will for decades and the Pres. wants to stop it.  Hence, he has ‘ordered’ US companies to begin laying the foundations for a return to America’s ‘welcoming shores.’

The NYT disagrees with this affirmative action as it is so wedded to the China First policies of the last seventy years.  It would be too costly and impossible for such a return to take place, they say.  They point out the Chinese plants would have to be abandoned and that would be an outrageous financial burden. (It would also be the first time they considered the welfare of businesses.)  One tires of pointing out the contradictions of Liberal thought but one must ask why abandoning vast US factories to establish themselves in China was not an intolerable financial burden on companies?  Why are these millions of vacated acres and rusting plants in the US not a symbol of something?  One also has to ask what dog does the NYT have in this matter?  We all know that Mexican money is propping up the NYT propaganda factory; how much are they getting from China?

The Pres. does have the authority, if for nothing else, to encourage the companies to re-establish  in the US.  In any event building the infra structure would take some time, longer or shorter depending on the industry, reestablishing pipelines etc.

But that fabulous propaganda machine, the NYT, that can’t do advocate, says it can’t be done.  Transferring businesses only works from West to East but the earth’s rotation, apparently, precludes East to West.

One is reminded of that old saw of Louis XIV or Jack Kennedy, take your choice, about planting the tree that takes a hundred years to mature.  To  overrule the gardener, one the other or both are said to have excitedly ejaculated:  My goodness, get it in the ground right away we have no time to lose.

Same situation here.  Get moving.

My title is one of the two slogans on the cover of the September/October issue of the CFR’s Foreign Affairs magazine.  As it is the CFR that can only mean the Council is lamenting the termination of the Chinese uncontested domination of manufacturing and distribution in both Europe and North America.

Of course nothing is more natural or desirable than change.  During the Obama administration when the whole of American mores were forcefully being changed change was good.  Now that President Trump is reorganizing the CFR trading system out of favoring China change is lamentable.  The unfair Chinese system was thought perfect by the CFR.

Strangely, in reading the articles in Foreign Affairs there seems to be a cognitive disconnect about what happened.  The Chinese did not originate the Chinese Trading System to which the CFR alludes, the US did.  The Chinese didn’t have an inkling of an idea of establishing a global trading system.  The country was quite insular and seemingly content to stay that way.

Then in 1971 Nixon and Kissinger traveled to China, groveling before Mao in his nighties and changed the successful old system of Chinese containment releasing the genie from the bottle.

Then Americans, always ready to sell their birthright for a mess of pottage, saw that the Chinese would work hard for virtually nothing so they took their expertise and exported it to China free of any charges to show them how to make gidgets and gadgets for simple minded Americans and so to be able to eventually conquer the world without munitions or armies of any sort but by simply manufacturing gidgets and gadgets.

Not being complete idiots the Chinese studied American history during the nineteenth century and learn that by merely using intellectual properties without paying for them was a royal road to riches and by excluding competition from American goods and restricting outside investments to exclude the very corporation who were exploiting cheap Chinese labor, stealing trade and manufacturing secrets that all the apples on the tree would fall in China.

Speaking of apples, here is an example of the peculiar trading system the CFR so adores.  At one time Washington State was shipping whole crops of apples to China and prospering mightily.  The bureaucrats in DC, mostly CFR members considerately thought this matter over and, apparently thinking it unfair that American growers should be prospering they ordered the Washington State growers to go to China and teach them how to grow apples commercially themselves.  You see, the Chinese couldn’t figure that one out themselves.  Consequently Washington State growers lost that lucrative market.

And in that vein the CFR bureaucrats organized their amazing global trading system whose demise they now deplore.  The opinion of the apple growers hasn’t been solicited.

This incredibly unfair, even criminal, approach to global trade is now dying a natural death.  No, correct that, President Trump is blowing it apart.  As Chinese intransigence hardens into a total refusal to give up their advantages conferred on them by the CFR, President Trump, who’d rather win than lose, is hardening the US approach.  In the latest development he is apparently assuming an autocratic stance more consonant with global political trends and has or is about to order US corporations to abandon China and bring their manufacturing back to the US.

Such a ukase would be the worst thing that could happen to China that, after all, has built its prosperity by exploiting the people of the US and Europe.

Not only is a global trading system dying but the whole post-French Revolution democratic political system is dying.  Democracy is dead as autocracy rises from the ruins of the pre-Soviet Revolution Czarist autocratic system.  Today, change is now.  Rather than resist the current, let’s go with the flow.

The March-April 1919 edition of Foreign Affairs so its cover proclaims, is a discussion of nationalism resulting it hopes in a New Nationalism.  I wasn’t too impressed.  The contributors are one step ahead of high school papers.  The issue might better have been called the New Globalism but put that aside and let us just interpret the image of the cover.  Perhaps subconsciously the CFR indicates its true mission.

The cover is a black and white composograph of a mass of forearms giving the Communist power salute.  You know how symbols go.  The Jews for instance co-opted the Star of David as a symbol of the Jewish nation in the Middle Ages.  As every organization needs a symbol to represent them, in answer to the Jewish symbol the German National Socialists adopted the ancient symbol of the Swastika in the twentieth century.  The National Socialists borrowed the Open Palm stiff armed salute from the Italian Fascists who in turn had borrowed it from the ancient Romans.

This left the Communists with a yellow hammer and sickle on a red flag for a symbol but no hand symbol.  Well, there were clever Communists too and they came up with the clenched fist and bent elbow salute.  Very attractive in a rough and ready way.  So, after, 1917, that salute represented the look out world, we’re taking over, defiant power salute.

Whether consciously or unconsciously the CFR globalists have adopted the aggressive Communist power salute.  That sign basically means get in line or we’ll kill you and this is verified by numerous incredible holocausts.

Above the raised fists emblazoned on the cover are the words:  The New Nationalism.  Communism is a one world universal or global ideology so one is led to think that New Nationalism is globalism under a disguise that, so to speak, leaves unbelievers without a country, or nation without a leg to stand on, outside the pale of Communist civilization and hence disposable.  The threat is palpable.

And then on page 42, one Richard Sopolsky, a Professor of Biology, Neurosurgery and Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University relates this parable under the title of The Biology of Us and Them:

He never stood a chance.  His first mistake was looking for food alone; perhaps things would have turned out differently if he’d been with someone else.  The second, bigger mistake was wandering too far up the valley into a dangerous wooded area.  This was where he risked running into the Others, the ones from the ridge above the valley.  At first, there were two of them, and he tried to fight, but another four crept up behind him and he was surrounded.  They left him there to bleed to death and later returned to mutilate his body.  Eventually, nearly 20 such killings took place, until there was no one left, and the Others took over the whole valley.

The protagonists in this tale of blood and conquest, first told by the primatologist John Mitani, are not people; they are chimpanzees in a national park in Uganda.  Over the course of a decade, the male chimps in one group systematically killed every neighboring male, kidnapped the surviving females, and expanded their territory.  Similar attacks occur in chimp populations elsewhere; a 2014 study found that chimps are about 30 times as likely to kill a chimp from a neighboring group as to kill one of their own.  On average eight males gang up on the victim.

 

If one compares this parable with the cover symbol one might be led to believe that what we have is an instructional tale.  In fact isn’t this what, more or less, the Antifa Fascisti are doing.  Isn’t this what Hillary Clinton was hinting at when she called opponents Deplorables.

As the Red hero, Victor Hugo, said about the Chouans, that they would never accept the Liberal Dispensation and hence they must be destroyed, eliminated, and in fact that’s what the French Revolution did, the French Revolution was the first great modern holocaust.  And then came another and another and yet another.  Is there any reason to imagine that we have reached the end of the great holocausts.  It may be too soon to tell and then…once again.

The Jewish war against Germany should not be construed as directed solely at Hitler and the NSDAP; it was a war against the historic people of united Germany and it may be said to have begun when Joseph Oppenheimer, the Jud Suss, attempted the takeover of the Southern German State of Wurttemberg.  The complete destruction of Germany and the genocide of the German people was the goal.  This would be proven by the Morgenthau Plan for a conquered Germany in 1945.

Bernard Baruch, probably even before the end of WWI, was a proponent of perpetual wartime preparedness, thus advocating a military State like the much despised Prussians.  No sooner had Roosevelt been inaugurated (his first inauguration being the last held on March 5^th) in March than the NRA was rushed through Congress.

The NRA which was headed by Baruch’s WIB lieutenant and long time business associate Hugh Johnson was merely a replicate of Baruch’s War Industry Board adapted for the non-shooting war against the Depression.  In addition under Felix Frankfurter the Jews immediately headed toward agriculture  creating the AAA- Agricultural Adjustment Act and putting it firmly under their control.  Sapiro triumphed.

The Jews had control of the currency through the Federal Reserve, commerce and industry though he NRA and the food supply through the AAA.  Who now needed Sapiro’s co-ops?

Baruch had been preaching preparedness for a new war since the WIB had been disbanded.  He had wanted many of the totalitarian aspects of the WIB imposed on the American population fulltime.  That is that he wanted them to be the words of the government.  This in itself is a replica of theocratic Judaism.  It is no wonder then that the NRA ‘mobilized’ the people of the US for their war on the Depression of FDR.  The NRA was mobilized for ‘total war.’  The population was not willing to accept such nonsense.

However, the WIB in the Great War touched on all the mores of the US.  It called for a selfless, charitable contribution for the welfare of the US, the world  and, indeed, civilization; it was ‘the war to end all wars.  By full cooperation the citizen was made to feel valuable, performing an important function, confirming his opinion of himself as virtuous.

The difference in 1933 was that the situation was not the same.  Virtue was well paying in 1917-18, in 1933 the average man and women could see no benefit in a war on the depression for their individual selves, there were still no jobs, the bills were still unpaid.  The sacrifices were sterile.  A little over a year later the Supreme Court struck down the NRA as unconstitutional and the socialist tactic had failed.  That, however, was not the end of the affair. 

FDR was shocked, dismayed, resentful at being thwarted.  A few more setbacks and he grumbled at ‘the nine old men’ of the Supreme Court.  The reason wasn’t that his plans violated the mores of the citizens of the US and were therefore unacceptable it was because the justices were old, wed to the past.  What the court needed was new blood.  Partisan New Dealers.  In a frenzy then FDR moved to increase the nine old men with three or six New Dealers.  Now he was messing with a deeply held more and he was slapped down hard.  The rejection, along a newly elected dominant Republican Congress shook his confidence so that he was never the same after that.

Had he thought it out he would have realized that with patience old men would do what old men must, that is die or retire, which is what a few did shortly.  But it was too late; the damage had been done.

Back to Bernard Baruch.  By 1930 Baruch was the new leader of the Jewish war on American society.  Jacob Schiff, the grand old patriarch of the Jews had passed in 1921, while the hard working president of the AJC, Louis Marshall, punched his ticket in 1929.  Strangely enough that ‘ardent American Patriot’ had boarded the Gospel Train in Palestine where he was reviewing progress of the settlement.

Judaism is organized somewhat like the military so that chief men come and go without disruption.  The chain of commanders always intact and besides new times require new men.  When a leader is no longer in tune with the times he is replaced by any means necessary.  So Baruch just assumed the role and the ‘truth went marching on.’

The war was carried on over many fronts.  Just as the WIB, an ideal Jewish organization embraced every aspect of life but in a natural way so that battles were not recognized as those of an aggressor.  The battles were reforms.

The Depression had aided collectivization or, regimentation as Whites expressed it, a great deal while emphasizing the haves and have nots, in other words, a move toward a class society.  The Plutocracy found regimentation very useful.  Whereas Henry Ford’s doubling of wages in 1912 challenged the Biblical dictum that the poor shall always be with us  and the Roaring twenties gave the impression that everyone could be a millionaire, the Depression returned to the Biblical stricture that the poor would be numerous while being with us.  This was part of the creation of the split of the US into what appear to be two permanent classes.

The socialism of FDR was deeply resented.  The prevailing doctrine is socialism; Communism, National Socialism and Fascism are just three faces of Socialism.  After 1933 the US had shifted to collective socialism although of its own blend.  Still, while the Plutocracy embraced regimentation it rejected collectivism and socialism as a threat to itself.  The clash of mores, that is Jewish and Anglo-Saxon, was enormous and would take generations to work out if it has yet.

Communism took center stage in 1917, followed by Mussolini’s Fascism about 1922  and Hitler’s National Socialism in 1933.  The latter two were derivatives of or reactions to Communism.  As has been noted Communism in the US was suppressed in 1921 and released in 1933.  In the intervening years both Fascism and National Socialism had come into existence.  The two were opposed to Communism much as Christianity was.  The Jews who returned to Washington were Communists.  The split in US society occurred when the old individualist mores collided with the new socialistic or Communist collectivist mores.

The Communists then characterized the old US mores practitioners as Fascists or Nazis.  So, at that point in the thirties the population was divided into Socialist/Communists and Fascists/Nazis/Natives.  Polarization to the nth degree.  The division was held by Roosevelt siding with the Socialist/Communists.  However this reality was little understood.

Now the situation was approaching a crisis and that critical moment would occur in 1940.  For that to occur the past had to be discredited.  As Bob Dylan would later sing, ‘I changed their faces and gave them brand new names.’  Obliterated, erased.  That was exactly what the Roosevelt Administration and the Jews began upon their entry into Washington.  Their first effort was to hold the last emblem of the Gilded Age ex-president Herbert Hoover up to maximum ridicule, even scratching out his name from Hoover Dam replacing it with Boulder.

The Democrats were a backward looking lot while the Jews in appropriating the country had to extinguish the memory of its past lords.  In preparation for their ascension as the true creators the Jews had been demeaning, debunking being the term of the day, that is destroying the characters of these founders of the country. Thus they meant to destroy the past and replace it with Jewish heroes and mores.

It was for this purpose that Roosevelt had been groomed for the presidency.  His election was greeted with great joy by the Jewish community.  On the night he was elected several Jewish baby boys were named Franklin Delano.  This is more than remarkable.  Why should there have been such joy in the Jewish colonies unless great expectations were anticipated from Roosevelt?  Such a reaction could not have been a thing of the moment but a long term investment in the career of FDR.

Indeed, FDR had been a significant figure in the Wilson administration.  As such he was known to and undoubtedly knew such key figures as Bernard Baruch, Louis Brandeis and Felix Frankfurter.  Indeed he would later refer to Brandeis as ‘our Isaiah.’  When Brandeis retired from the Supreme Court his replacement on ‘the Jewish seat’ was his disciple Felix himself.

FDR had been a large ornament to American manhood before he was struck down by polio in 1921.  He had a handsome, arrogant fellow by all accounts; to the manor born.  He was important to the Jews as a goy of marketable quality while easily manipulated to say the least.  He was therefore indoctrinated and in on the scheme.  He was chosen as the Democratic vice-presidential candidate for James Cox in the 1920 election. It was assumed by the Democrats that that election was in the bag especially as the Republican candidate Warren G. Harding was considered to be an inept if cordial fellow.  The Cox-FDR defeat was a blow as great as that of Donald Trump’s defeat of Hillary Clinton.  It was incomprehensible and it set Jewish plans back twelve years.  There must have been a lot invested in Roosevelt.

The Jews had also appropriated Al Smith of NYC as their boy.  During the twenties Smith served as their governor of New York State.  He was carefully managed by the Jew Belle Moskowitz.  He was put up for president against Herbert Hoover in 1928 and found wanting.  To replace Smith as governor Roosevelt was dragooned from his sickbed.  He was very reluctant.  Devastated by the use of his legs he was desperate to regain them and was already using his spa in Warm Springs Georgia.

FDR was installed as Governor of New York to replace the unfortunate Al Smith who the Jews now abandoned much to his chagrin.  One imagines his term was made easy while the propaganda machine magnified his acts that indeed implemented the Jewish agenda.  When Hoover’s administration was trashed, as the propaganda machine used every defamatory trick available, the election of Roosevelt in 1932 was assured.

There is a problem with Roosevelt that is never discussed and that is what effect did his incapacitation by polio have on his mind?  How did he accept the change from his handsome dashing prime to the wheel chair bound wreck who could not stand up or take an unaided step.  In short, in cruel terms, a cripple.

Not well.

Roosevelt probably knew that a disabled king could not rule.  Throughout history the rule had been that a ruler must not have a single blemish.  Even a facial scar acquired in war disqualified him.  Thus FDR went to great lengths to conceal his disability.  It was never mentioned by the media, they were silenced, indeed, there were legions of people who never knew that FDR had had polio and couldn’t walk.  One imagines that the before polio Roosevelt was the image he held in mind of himself after polio.  His psychology was definitely affected but the question is how?

Once in office Roosevelt turned on the ‘capitalists’ of the Gilded Age.  The exuberant wide open laissez-faire cowboys of 1865-1914 were to be condemned, erased, and if possible wiped from the pages of history.  In this both Jews and Democrats were united.  Consequently, criminal charges were levied against a host of the Old Guard with at least one sent to prison.  Herbert Hoover himself became the personal bete noir of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.  The defamation Hoover had endured as president was as nothing compared to what to was to come.

Perhaps Hoover represented the whole Gilded Age to FDR.  Until his presidency Hoover was considered one of the greatest men alive.  He was a self-made man, an orphan who went on to become a graduate of Stanford University and from thence to be considered one of, if not, the greatest mining engineer of his age.  He earned a considerable fortune nor did he hesitate to use it for meritorious purposes.  During WWI when the whole Belgian population was starving to death their survival depended solely on his good offices as he negotiated with the Germans to allow food through their lines accepting their guarantee that they would not appropriate the food for themselves.  The German honored that agreement and the Belgians were saved. 

In post-war Germany when once again their whole population was being starved to death by an Allied blockade that would allow no food to be delivered to them. Their plight was lifted by the sole activities of Hoover who over the objections of the Allies forced them to lift the blockade.

Again, in post-war Russia during the huge famine of 1921 killing millions, over the objections of Lenin’s communist government Hoover came to the rescue.  He was viewed as a miracle man.  This was the man the Roosevelt administration and Roosevelt personally set out to destroy.  Hoover was spotless; their only tool was an unwarranted defamation.  The administration sank to the filthiest means.

Hoover had begun the great dam across he Colorado River that has made Las Vegas, Arizona and California prosperity possible.  The dam was called Hoover Dam as a tribute to his engineering skills.  Roosevelt changed the name to Boulder Dam rather than Hoover’s name should be erased throughout history.  In an attempt to equal or surpass Hoover Dam, the administration decided to build the great Grand Coulee Dam across the great Columbia River in Washington State.   And then he threw in Bonneville Dam further downstream from Washington to the Oregon side.

While Hoover Dam was built in a narrow defile where the Colorado descended from the plateau, Grand Coulee was merely a mile wide.  At that width it had to be a gravity dam, that is the weight of the dam had to exceed the pressure of the water behind.  The most concrete ever used to that point was poured across the mile wide Columbia gap.  One imagines that Roosevelt grinned from ear to ear when it was completed.  And all that electrical power was socialized.

Roosevelt was relentless in his defamation of the great mind, Herbert Hoover.  His persecution of Hoover ended only with his death in 1945.  After that Hoover was able to regain a portion of he reputation although even today he is only remembered for the Depression’s Hoovervilles of homeless people.  Now, that was effective defamation.  Where was the Anti-Defamation League when you needed them.

It is difficult to understand the hostility, even hatred, of the past.  The Gilded Age is an amazing oneoff period in the history of the world.  The transformation from a primarily agricultural  horse drawn society to an industrial megalith of billion dollar corporations.  A period when horses were replaced on the farms with internal combustion gasoline tractors.  Oil had transformed transportation by highway, railway and the airways, and this was all done in forty spectacular years.  Roosevelt was anti-big as was his administration.  In many ways they were paramount reactionaries.

Perhaps more important was the difference in the magnitude of scale.  Things went from miniscule to gigantic while the average human mind was still at the miniscule level.  Gigantic rail systems, gigantic industrial agglomerations.  The currency and economic changes, the rise of the great New York Stock Exchange from a mere nothing conducted under a tree to the seeming arbiter of the economic life of the nation.  Perhaps the Stock Exchange was the easiest target, perhaps in its cataclysmic crash, an economic Armageddon with so many lives destroyed, the life of the nation imperiled, was the small minded man’s revenge.

In any event the Roosevelt administration looking back in anger chose to pillory as many of these ‘robber barons’ or descendants of robber barons as they could.  Like the ancient Egyptians chiseling the name of Hatshepsut from the monuments to eradicate her memory from history, the Roosevelt Administration sought to erase the Gilded Age from history, to remake the US over again in its own image.

One is reminded of the advent of the Jefferson Administration when he had finally achieve power and said that an entirely new approach to America was to replace that of Washington and Adams.  By that he meant that the Illuminati, so hated and feared by Adams, would take control of American society.  Jefferson was of the sect, still managed by Adam Weisshaupt from his refuge in Germany.  The Abbe Baruel’s Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism, one of the more famous books in history, was rushed in translation to the US in 1795 as a warning of danger and in response John Adams had passed the Alien and Sedition Laws to stifle the inflow of Jacobins.  One of Jefferson’s first acts was to repudiate those laws and he established the new order in the US thus repudiating the past much as Roosevelt was doing and for much the same political agenda.

And then the Civil War pushed the US in a new direction, the greatest  period of laissez faire that ever existed.  Now Roosevelt was repudiating the past in the same manner as Jefferson while its reaction is being realized in the Presidency of Donald Trump.

Roosevelt issued indictments against dozens of the Old order as though their very lives had been crimes.  In many ways he anticipated the show trials that Stalin would initiate later in the decade.  Roosevelt’s indictments were actually futile.  The older J.P. Morgan was safe in his grave beyond his reach but his son, the young J.P. Morgan was there.  He was forced to sit with a dwarf on his knee as a symbol of humiliation.  Perhaps it was thought that this symbolically cut the older Morgan in the person of the younger down to size.  Or, perhaps Roosevelt took this method to rage against the polio that struck him down.

Once started there was no stopping them.  Perhaps this interpretation is too strong but having imposed his will on the US though the WIB Bernard Baruch was able to continue to direct the US toward his goals indicated by the War Industries Board.  Total war was now directed at the United States for the benefit of the Jewish people.  Baruch was seemingly able to mobilize the US against itself.  In keeping with his idea of total war the taxing system was organized to expropriate Old Americans of their wealth.  Income tax rates would soar to ninety percent of income, expropriatory death taxes would destroy old fortunes impoverishing the new generations.  The old mansions went vacant and unused, no longer affordable.

According to the Jewish literary spokesman, Gustavus Myers, the goal was even to prevent the formation of new fortunes.  Judging from today this goal has been an ultimate failure but then within a few years the great fortunes of the Gilded Age had been appropriated.  By 1940 success seemed inevitable.  The country had been impoverished both high and low.

The March-April issue of Foreign Affairs arrived and once again it is dedicated to the denunciation of President Trump.   As is well known Foreign Affairs is the propaganda arm of the Council On Foreign Relations.  The CFR is not merely an informational service, it is also a potent influence within the government of the United States.  Many members have even served as President of the United States.  In fact, the last four presidents covering twenty-four consecutive years, that is Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama and had Hillary Clinton been placed a full twenty-eight, possible thirty-two years.  Time enough to indoctrinate two and half generations.

Thus it was a bitter disappointment for them when Donald Trump made a run around end to win the White House.  His mere candidacy had unleashed an unceasing barrage of hatred and since he has been under siege defending himself against innumerable CFR sappers.  The March-April issue continues the assault.  The five themed articles under the heading Letting Go are:  Trump’s Lucky Year, Why the Chaos Can’t Last, The World After Trump, How The System Can Endure,  The Rise Of Illiberal Hegemony:  Trump’s Surprising Grand Strategy, The Post-American World Economy:  Globalization In The Trump Era and Giving Up The High Ground: America’s Retreat On Human Rights.

As is evident the Liberal ‘system’ that the CFR presidents were putting in place and which would have been completed by the election of Hillary Clinton has been disrupted by the election of Donald Trump who is, in fact, dismantling the whole Liberal CFR system.  Hence, an article on how the system can endure, one imagines, behind the scene:  the so-called Dark Government.

This raises the question of what beyond specific goals as outlined in Foreign Affairs is the Liberal mind set.  In the larger scope of human history to what psychological reality, Weltanschauung motivates the Liberal mind.

Many theories have been advanced about the motivating forces that direct human activity.  The Hegelian/Marxist view is of course based on economics.  But underlying theories such as Marxism is the fundamental dichotomy of the spiritual vs. the material.  The fantasy of life vs. the reality.  The Liberal utopian based ‘spirituality’ vs. the Conservative naturalistic based view of reality.  The soft-headed vs. the hard-headed.

In many ways the Liberal mind is magical in nature.  The Liberal desires and magically creates a reality that assumes that the desire is fact.

Thus Adam S. Posen who wrote the article The Post-American World Economy:  Globalization in the Trump Era projects on the one hand the desire of the Liberal post-WWII system while on the other unconsciously contrasts the reality.  The very title The Post-American World Economy contradicts the assumption that the Post-WWII US world order is still in operation. So, possibly, Trump is merely destroying the Liberal mental fantasy.  Negating the magic.  Post-American posits an end to the US domination and, indeed, under Obama the CFR destroyed the dominant role of the US with the result that a number of more or less equals are now jockeying for position.

Mr. Posen begins his article with the illusory view of this so-called seventy year post-war Liberal world order.

 

In the aftermath of World War II the United States set about building a global, rules base economic order.  At the heart of the order it put the Liberal values of free trade backed up by U.S. power and bolstered by its growing legitimacy among other countries, prevented most economic disputes from escalating into mutually destructive trade wars, let alone military conflict.  That allowed even the smallest and poorest countries to develop their social and economic potential without having to worry about predation by strange neighbors.  By taking much of the fear out of the global economy, the U.S. led order allowed market decisions to be driven by business not bullying.

Having been present at the creation and having lived through the whole period in varying degrees of cognizance,  I can tell you that the above view of the seventy years is contradicted fully by my own experience and understanding.

The problems of our times have become more difficult.  The fantasy of the American Century has passed.  It is no longer about ‘things’ but one of attitudes of which most that are held are not realistic.  There is at the base of the matter still the conflict between the ‘spiritual’ and the materialist views; that is, the longing for the magical supernatural Land of Faerie vs. Science , or the reality of matter, or put another way religion vs. science.  Let us review the evolution of human consciousness.

One must assume that early man was as unconscious as are wild animals today.  In other words, early man had no rational explanation for external reality.  And this extends back into hundreds of thousands, millions, of years of pre-Homo Sapiens existence.  Presumably the more recent nomenclature homo sapiens, wise or knowledgeable man, indicates the beginning of consciousness of the world outside the mind.  As it took until the twentieth century before psychologists began to significantly understand the working of the human mind it can be easily seen that the learning process  was long and slow.  Man was barely conscious of either his own mind or the world outside his mind, working with very little true knowledge he came up with some pretty bizarre explanations of how things functioned.

He invested all animate and inanimate objects with life and sensation.  Thus he created the supernatural and the natural.  The world was filled with invisible beings both good and bad.  Gods and Devils, Faeries, Elves, Gnomes, Elementals.  The air was packed with demons and angels and what have you.  This was true down to and including the beginning of history and well beyond, even into the nineteenth century.  Gods came and went, old gods died, gods who failed in their duties were discarded or transformed.  Each people had their own gods.  In the clash of peoples and therefore gods, peoples went under and with them their gods.

In this mental context I would like to examine the period in European history from 1100 to 1300, a very critical and rich period in Europe and the Middle East that would eventually affect the world when the European diaspora took place from c. 1400 to the beginning of the twentieth century.

By1300 the Catholic, that is the Universal, Church was the dominant supernaturally based force in Europe and the ME- Middle East.  In order to confirm its position it had to eliminate all other supernatural belief systems.  This was no easy task as other supernatural beliefs systems had the same credibility as the Christian and the Catholic Church was never completely successful.  This was a wonderful period and I hope I can successfully display it with some justice. 

There were many competing supernatural belief systems competing at this time, many remnants of old decayed and dying gods as well as their successors trying to establish themselves against the dominant Catholic Church.

The old Greco-Roman systems still survived in out the way places and pockets and even in the popular mind.  The old Egyptian systems had been mutating since the Assyrian invasions of the seventh century BC.  No longer with a national State to support the religion it had infiltrated Christianity to a degree and went on mutating over the centuries but was still a potent force as an element of the Catholic faith.

Of course the backbone of Catholicism came from the Jewish religious system through Christianity.  The Catholic Church took over Jewish religious sites wholesale.  Thus the erstwhile Jewish capital of Jerusalem became the holiest site of Christianity in Europe.  With the founding of the Mohammedan religion of Arabia the so-called Holy City fell into non-Jewish-Christian hands.

As Europe reorganized  and became somewhat unified under the Carolingian kings of France, the idea of the Holy City in Moslem hands became intolerable in Church eyes and so just prior to 1100 the Church instigated the idea of liberating Jerusalem giving the period under consideration the name of the Crusades.

This was done for supernatural reasons.  On the European side one was under God and on the Moslem side one was under their deity who went by the name of Allah.  Thus one had the War of the Gods.

The ME had always been a hotbed of competing supernatural religious ideas.  Innumerable Gods and Goddesses.  Some intriguing mental projections in the bargain.  Generally speaking few if any had completely disappeared.  If the actual religion has been suppressed the guiding ideas lived on.

The human mind has continued to evolve, that is consciousness, so that the internal unconscious mind has been enlightened toward a correct appreciation of the external world.  That is, as Freud expressed it, the personality or mind is integrated when consciousness has illuminated the unconscious.  The period under consideration was an important period in the evolution of consciousness.  It should be remembered that any of these imaginary beings had equal validity in the consciousness of people of the times.  God or Faerie, same thing.

The Aryan Land of Faerie has as much a claim to reality as did the God of the Jews, Isis of the Egyptians, Cybele, the God of the Christians, however as Jews and Christians were dominant the other imaginary deities were not disproved but ridiculed and suppressed.  Thus, in this tremendous period of the Christian crusades to recapture the religious capital of Jerusalem there were many unintended consequences.  The Crusades opened the gates to admit ideas from the other suppressed belief systems.  Thus, the Cathar religion of Manichean sympathies had migrated West from Iran through the Balkans to gain a firm foothold in Southern France, also known as the Occitan. 

This was a large trans-Alpine area including the Aquitaine.  This area fostered the romances of King Arthur and the Round Table which was a Faerie kingdom.  A land of magic and enchantment both anathema to Judeo-Christianity.  The wonderful romances, far outshining the dull Jewish bible, were developed during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.

Thus the Catholic Church was confronted by a number of competing belief systems.  The Cathar problem was solved in the midst of the Middle Eastern crusades by a crusade against the Cathars.  A genocidal war against the unfortunate Cathars was conducted by the French at the instigation of the Church.  This involved an actual man hunt to destroy the Cathars root and branch.  Apparently the Church remembered the Amalekites.

That solution was really easy for the Church but the Arthurian romances that involved England, France, Germany and associated peoples could not be dealt with so easily.  Indeed, when the main assault came against the Church it would come from the three countries mentioned. They required boring from within, co-opting the ideology.  Catholic writers thus chose to change the direction of the romances from a warrior cult to one of a quest for spiritual perfection.  This was achieved through the introduction of the character of Galahad, the son of the nearly perfect but flawed knight, Lancelot of the Lake.

At the same time a French series of works called the Chansons de Geste- Songs of Adventure- were written to discredit the Land of Faerie.  A key text along this line was an amazing story titled Huon of Bordeaux.  Bordeaux was a key Cathar city, sort of the Faerie capital, bordering the the key Cathar stronghold of Mont Segur.  Galahad ascended to heaven from that stronghold along with the Holy Grail to lay the Arthurian threat to rest.

Huon of Bordeaux introduces the king of the Faerie Land, Oberon.  Oberon and God are in a contest to see which would most successfully aid Huon in his quest to exonerate himself from a punishment imposed by the ninth century king of France, Charlemagne.  Bear in mind this was a contest between two imaginarily real gods, God and Oberon, king of the Faeries.

Huon, had violated chivalric protocol by successfully defending himself against Charlemagne’s evil son, killing him in the process.  Charlemagne then banishes Huon, allowing him back only if he succeeds in a number of seemingly impossible feats in the Holy Land against a Moslem king.  Huon doesn’t have a prayer, however passing through a forbidden forest in the Holy Land he is confronted by Oberon, king of the Faeries.  This is equivalent to running into the Catholic God.  Oberon, after extracting a number of vows, gives Huon a horn which if blown in dire straits Oberon will appear with a hundred thousand troops to rescue him.  Huon is cautioned to never use it unless his situation is beyond redemption otherwise.

Huon is the light-headed sort so he blows the horn to test it.  Oberon appears with his 100K troops but is miffed because Huon didn’t follow instructions.  In any event Huon through Oberon’s aid performs the impossible tasks Charlemagne set him and returns to Bordeaux before returning to Paris and  the king’s court as instructed.  Another boo-boo in a long string of boo-boos.  Huon could have been the prototype of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan.

While absent from his home his brother Gerard had usurped his role and now refuses to give it up.  Further adventures intervene but Charlemagne in the end comes to Bordeaux to receive evidences of Huon’s successes.  Huon is unable to produce them as his brother has stolen them from him.  At this time Oberon appears and magically exonerates Huon.  As God had done nothing to help Huon one would think Oberon to be judged the greater than God but Huon irrationally chooses the ineffective God over Oberon even after Huon abdicates his kingship, and renounces Faerieland appointing Huon his successor.  Right.  Even though now King of Faerie Land Huon chooses to live happily ever after in his domain of Bordeaux while God is declared he victor in the contest with Oberon.

Meanwhile the Church was capturing the Arthurian Faerie Land so that as the fourteenth century began the Cathars, Faeries and the real life Knights Templar who had been associated with the Cathars had been disposed of.  The Jews were suppressed and the Church and God were seemingly in control.  However in the fifteenth century Constantinople, today’s Istanbul, was to fall to the Moslems releasing even more heretical ideas against the Catholic ideology that would result in the Enlightenment during which the European mind matured to the point where the scientific assumed prominence and scientific investigation began to reveal the true state of Nature.  This development destroyed the basis of supernatural thinking placing all forms of the fantastic into defensive positions or beyond into fiction.

The Jews abandoned the idea of God, the Catholics refused to accept reality and Europeans who cherished the Faerie forced to blend the Faerie with science.  That is to say, turn Faerie lands into fiction.  Thus the Romantic Age took form in the wreck of the French Revolution.  The First Romantic period was a wonderful time of discovery producing astonishingly beautiful literary products.

Science continued to remove the Veil of Isis revealing nature to the human mind.  The next big test was Darwin’s formulation of Evolution.  The concept had been discussed for a hundred years previously but Darwin wrote the words that condensed evolutionary theory into fact.  Romantics who had been holding on were now forced to adapt further.  This adaptation produced the Second or Neo-Romantic who struggled in the face of scientific realities.

An interesting development occurred.  Mankind refused to give up the supernatural.  It would appear that the terrors of the real world required an imaginary refuge in which things could be controlled.  Thus a transition from an imagined heaven or Faerie land began a conversion to an other world (parallel  universe) that while equally unrealizable was equally comforting.  The Pre-Raphaelites reached back into the past to idealize the world before the artist Raphael.  From that beginning it blossomed into late nineteenth and early twentieth century novels.  Among many others were the reactionary works of William Morris and the futuristic novels of the near great George Du Maurier.  Du Maurier brought forward the Faerie projected into the future in a sort of science fiction.

In the US, L. Frank Baum created a modern fairy tale in his Land of Oz stories.  This also meshed with the English Ruritanian novels of Anthony Hope and the US interpreter George Barr McCutcheon.

All these threads including Rider Haggard’s romantic African fantasies were brought together in the novels of the American Edgar Rice Burroughs.  While not thought of as a Neo-Romantic, Burroughs was probably the greatest of the lot.

As a result of a brain injury as a young man Burroughs was capable of disappearing into his brain world to create amazing fictional realities.

His scientific background and romantic projections are nearly perfect blends.  In his Tarzan series he employs Africa as a geographic reality but then transforms it into a romantic fairyland that could never exist.  In his own way Burroughs character Tarzan is a reinvention of Oberon.  This confused a lot of readers who insisted that the real Africa differed from Burroughs’ imaginary Africa.  No contest.

For instance, Burroughs wanted to have tigers in Africa so he wrote them in to his Faerie Land.  The magazine version of Tarzan of the Apes had tigers and made the story truly fabulous.  However readers, being literal when their imaginations failed to embrace the flights of Burroughs’ fancy forced the writer to change the tigers to lions thereby wrecking the Faerie land Africa, this alternate reality that Burroughs wished to create.  Burroughs himself was heavily influenced by the fairy tales of L. Frank Baum, with whom he became great friends, so that if  you’ve read Baum and keep Oz in mind while reading Burroughs the stories take on an added dimension.

Burroughs didn’t stop with Tarzan and Africa but out of the same mind during the same period created another fairly land on Mars and another at the Earth’s core honoring the fabulous hollow Earth notion.  Thus three complete Faerie lands.

Of course, there was already a fairly large body of Mars and space travel stories in existence but they took a fairly clumsy approach and turned it into a whole something else, sensational, perhaps, for the moment but without enduring appeal.

At the same time, early teens of the twentieth century, a man named Hugo Gernbach was taking science fiction to a whole new level beyond Burroughs that would result in the fantastic blossoming of sci-fi in the nineteen-fifties.

This was truly a romantic recreation of Faerie Land.  Worlds beyond comprehension; the transformation of the Little Folk into space aliens of every description with their human counterparts.  The true nature of sci-fi has been little appreciated.

The neo-Romantics of the second period also created the horror and fantasy genres that would dominate literature along with sci-fi.  The two greatest and most enduring creations were the Frankenstein of Mary Bysshe Shelley of the first Romantic period and the greatest of the monsters, Bram Stoker’s vampire Dracula.  Vampire stories had been around since Shelley’s friend Dr. Polidori wrote his short vampire piece.  Varney the Vampire had made his appearance in mid-century England, attributed to Rymer but Stoker’s sensational novel formed the template for all future vampire stories including those of Anne Rice who was or is totally obsessed by the genre.  Thus the supernatural transformed into quasi-scientific reality has survived to the present.

The Liberal mind evolved out of the Judeo-Catholic religious sphere, more specifically influenced by the Jewish aspects of the Old Testament, most especially by the notion of a people elected by god to rule mankind in his name.  The notion is essentially amoral.

As the Jews are supposed to be creating God’s will on Earth, bringing his rule to all people they believe that means by any means necessary. That notion includes the elimination of whole peoples who may stand in the way of that realization.  Thus the great Liberal novelist Victor Hugo would explain in his novel 1793 the advent of the new perfect Liberal world can never be achieved so long as ‘obstructionists’ live so that Liberals are justified in killing tens or hundreds of million or even a billion in what would be a vain attempt to eliminate differences of opinion.

Thus, today, we have the Liberals hoping, praying for the deaths of ‘old’ people who they fancy stand in the way of the realization of their utopia, while they imagine all people under say fifty are guided one mindedly by their utopian ideal.

On the other hand, Jews, Negroes and others believe that the whole White population of a billion people must be eliminated before their dreams can be realized.  It was believed by them that their dream was approaching realization in this 2016 election.

This hope was upset by the maverick Donald Trump.  Trump’s election set the Liberals off on a disappointed frenzy.  Hence, Foreign Affairs issue Volume 97 no. 2 is devoted to expressing their disappointment by denouncing now President Trump.

Thus of the five articles under the collective Letting Go, three are definitely written by Jews, Eliot A. Cohen,  Barry R. Posen and Adam S. Posen.  The female contributor Sarah Margon is also Jewish.  The only possible non-Jewish contributor is Jacob Sullivan, possibly of Irish derivation.  As these articles are all assigned, that is written on hire, Sullivan may be assumed to be compliant.

It is evident therefore that the Jews are behind the extreme anti-Trump movement.  While Trump seems to be obligated and subservient to the Jews for financial reasons their extreme opposition can only be based on the fact that Trump has taken a course independent of Jewish hopes and dreams.

The Jews, then, forming the core beliefs and fantasies of the Liberals give full and open access to the Liberal mind.  The Liberals consider themselves to be justified sinners, the elect chosen by god to bring his heaven, his perfection to Earth as in heaven.  There is no dissuading them, no ameliorating their extreme beliefs.  They can only be quarantined or suppressed much as they hope to murder all opposition.

There is no room for discussion or compromises.  Either they win or non-believers win.  There is no other option.
